Police seek assistance with Robbery investigation, Yonge Street and Dundas Street area, Man and boy arrested, two men still outstanding, Updated security camera image released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests in a series of Robberies in the Yonge Street and Dundas Street area.
On Saturday, August 27, 2016, between approximately 3 a.m. and 8 a.m., police received six reports for separate robberies in the Yonge Street and Dundas Street area.

It is alleged that:

- three men and a 17-year-old boy swarmed a number of people

- the people were robbed and their personal property taken

- in some of the cases, one of the men produced a handgun

Officers have arrested one man and a 17-year-old boy

It is further alleged that:

- a replica handgun was recovered

Two men are still outstanding. Security camera images of the two men have been attached to this release.

Darian Rodriquez, 20, of Mississauga, has been charged with:

1) five counts of Robbery with a Firearm
2) two counts of Robbery
3) five counts of Use Firearm to Commit Indictable Offence
4) four counts of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
5) four counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
6) four counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
7) Uttering Threats
8) Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
9) Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With
10) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
11) Careless Storage of a Firearm
12) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
13) Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime


A 17 year-old boy, of Mississauga, has been charged with:

1) five counts of Robbery with a Firearm
2) two counts of Robbery
3) five counts of Use Firearm to Commit Indictable Offence
4) four counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
5) three counts of Uttering Threats
6) seven counts of Fail to comply YCJA Disposition

The name of the Young Person cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Two men remain outstanding in this investigation.
