The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests made in a staged, auto-collision investigation.
It is alleged that, in January 2012, four people participated in a staged auto-collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Dixon Road and Martin Grove Road.
The insurers involved in the claim, Aviva Canada and The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, retained engineers to reconstruct the reported collision and determined that one of the vehicles had allegedly rammed the other vehicle, multiple times, deliberately.
On Saturday, May 11, 2013, Rakio Shire, 24, and Ramla Shire, 23, both of Toronto, were arrested.
Rakio Shire is charged with:
1) Public mischief
2) Fraud - over ($5,000)
3) Uttering a forged document
4) Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
Ramla Shire is charged with:
1) Attempted fraud - under ($5,000)
2) Uttering a forged document
3) Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
On Sunday, May 26, 2013, Sheeraz Qureshi, 34, of Stouffville, and Justin Wansbrough, 25, of Markham, were arrested.
Sheeraz Qureshi is charged with:
1) Public mischief
2) Fraud - over ($5,000)
3) Uttering a forged document
4) Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
Justin Wansbrough is charged with:
1) Attempted fraud - under ($5,000)
2) Uttering a forged document
3) Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
All four are scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, June 28, 2013.
