The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a theft investigation.
It is reported that:
- on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 10:30 p.m., on Bathurst Street north of Barton Street, a man approached the victim, asking for assistance in getting directions to a certain street
- the victim, who had been on his iPhone, assisted the man
- the man stated he couldnt understand the directions and asked to look at the phone
-the victim let the man hold the phone, the man ripped it from the victim's hand and attempted to drive off
- the victim reached inside the vehicle and was dragged by the vehicle as the suspect attempted to flee
- the victim was dragged down Bathurst Street to Barton Street, then eastbound on Barton Street, where the man rammed a parked car to dislodge the victim
- the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries
The vehicle is described as a white Charger- or Dart-type vehicle with LED lights on the rear
It is further reported that:
- on Saturday, May 18, 2013, the same man, in two separate cases, stole two women's iPhones, one in the College Street/Spadina Avenue Area, the second in the Bathurst Street/Harbord Street area
In the incident relating to the theft investigation at Bathurst Street/Harbord Street, the man was with a woman. The woman is classified as a suspect. She is described as white, 35, 5'5", thin, bleached blonde hair, cut to the chin.
The man is described as white with tan skin, 35, 6', with short, brown hair and spoke with a distinctive British accent.
