Homicides #8/2016 and #9/2016, Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street, Victim information released

On Sunday, January 31, 2016, at 3:15 a.m., police responded to the Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street area for a report of a shooting.

It is reported that:

- a group of men was involved in an altercation in the area of the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street, on the west side of Spadina Avenue

- a suspect fired at the group, wounding five people

- one victim was pronounced dead at the scene, four were taken to hospital

- a second victim succumbed to his injuries at approximately 8:45 a.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016

The victim of Homicide #8/2016 has been identified as David Eminess, 26, of Toronto.

The victim of Homicide #9/2016 has been identified as Quinn Taylor, 29, of Toronto.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area, who may have seen something, and ask they contact police. If anyone has video or images from the scene at the time of the shooting, they are also asked to call police.
