55 Division's Crime Management Team started the "Wanted Wednesday" program in September 2012.
They release the name, photograph and offences for which the person is wanted. The offences vary from Theft, Robbery, and Sexual Assault to Homicide.
In 2015, 44 wanted people were included as part of the “Wanted Wednesday” campaign. Of those, 38 (86%) were arrested.
55 Division Detective Sergeant Warren Wilson said, "I want to extend my appreciation and gratitude to the residents of 55 Division and the media who are responsible for so much of the success of 'Wanted Wednesday.'" This shows what our community, working together, can achieve."
