Arrest made in 1990 Sexual Assault, Austin Wycliffe Thomas, 49, extradited back to Canada

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a cold-case Sexual Assault.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, July 27, 1990, at approximately 11:50 p.m. a then-44-year-old woman was sleeping in her home in the Overlea Boulevard/Millwood Road area

- a man broke into her ground-floor apartment through an open window

- once inside, he attempted to choke the woman, and threatened her if she did not comply

- he then sexually assaulted her before fleeing

In May 2014, the man was identified as Austin Wycliffe Thomas, now 49, of the United Kingdom.

He was extradited back to Toronto, where he lived for approximately 12 years. He is charged with:

1) Break-and-Enter - Commit
2) Sexual Assault causing Bodily Harm
3) Overcome Resistance - Attempted Choking
4) Threatening Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at College Park Courts.
