The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services designated Sunday, November 1, 2015 to Saturday, November 7, 2015 as Crime Prevention Week in Ontario "Working Together to Improve Community Safety and Well Being – A shared Commitment in Ontario".

As part of this initiative #amnestyTO was announced, and to date, we have over 30 firearms that have been turned over to police for destruction. Gun amnesties are an opportunity for people to dispose of unwanted firearms safely and responsibly. The most common story we hear when picking up these firearms are that they belonged to their parents who are since deceased and didn’t know what to do with the firearm, or that they simply no longer want the firearm and didn’t know what to do with it.

To participate in #amnestyTO and turn over a firearm for destruction call 416-808-2222 to arrange a pick up.

Remember to NEVER bring a firearm to a police facility.
