On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 1 p.m., at the Bayside Rowing Club, 525 Commissioners Street, officers from 42 Division and 54 Division will take part in Eric the Red Rowing League for Kids with students from grade six at Valley Park Middle School and Emily Carr Public School.
The idea is to engage officers with at-risk youth, to break down barriers and create friendships among officers and kids.
Officers from each division have chosen and identified one inner-city school from their division. Officers will coach and teach kids the sport of rowing. Kids learn about teamwork, pulling together, all in the same boat.
