Police request assistance in Fail-to-Remain collision, Eglinton Avenue East/Midland Avenue

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a Fail-to-Remain collision.

On Monday, February 25, 2013, at 8:40 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision at Eglinton Avenue East/Midland Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 44-year-old woman was crossing Eglinton Avenue East from the north side to the south side, on the west side of the intersection, with her 11-year-old son

- a 1999 Lincoln Navigator was northbound on Midland Avenue, turning left to westbound Eglinton Avenue East

- the woman was struck by the vehicle and trapped underneath

- the driver fled the scene

The woman was taken to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. The child was not injured. The Navigator has been seized and is currently being examined by Forensic Identification Services.

The driver is described as a black man.
