Police request assistance with assault-with-a-weapon investigation, Taxi security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in an assault-with-a-weapon investigation.

On Sunday, April 14, 2013, at approximately 3:15 a.m., police responded to an assault/fraud transportation call in the Bremner Boulevard/York Street area.

It is reported that:

- a taxi driver drove three men and a woman to the Bremner Boulevard/York Street area and all fled the taxi without making a payment

- the driver managed to detain one of the men who resisted arrest and pulled out a knife

- the man threatened to kill the taxi driver if he didn’t release him

- the driver complied and the man ran from the scene

Security camera images from the taxi have been released to try to identify the woman and three men.

Suspect #1: male, white, 18-22, 5'5", baseball cap, earrings, glasses, faint moustache, armed with a knife

Suspect #2: male, black, 20-24, 5'5", broken teeth, clean-shaven

Suspect #3: male, white, 20-24, 5'3", dark hair

Suspect #4: female, white, 20-24, thin build, wearing a hoodie
