The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a shooting investigation.
On Thursday, February 12, 2015, at approximately 9 a.m., police were called to a shooting in the Dawes Road/Victoria Park Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- police found a man with a gunshot wound to the face
- the investigation led police to a nearby home
With the assistance of the Emergency Task Force, two residents were arrested.
Jeffrey Murphy, 29, of Toronto, is charged with:
1) Attempted Murder
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Aggravated Assault
4) Weapons Dangerous
5) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
6) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
7) Point Firearm
8) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
9) Use Firearm During the Commission of an Indictable Offence
10) Discharge Firearm with Intent
11) Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
12) Careless Storage of a Firearm
13) Careless Storage of Ammunition
14) Fail to Comply - Probation
15) two counts of Fail to Comply - Recognizance
He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park, on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 10 a.m.
The second resident was released unconditionally.
