The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in an Armed Robbery investigation.
On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at approximately 12:20 p.m., a man had just left a bank in the Eglinton Avenue East and Brimley Road area.
It is reported that:
- he was confronted by a man armed with a knife
- the man with the knife made a demand for cash
- a struggle ensued
- the man with the knife pulled a machete and assaulted the victim with it
- the man with the knife was confronted by other members of the public and fled.
As a result of the assault, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated and released from hospital.
The suspect is described as dark-brown complexion, 25-30, 5'5", 130 lbs., unshaven, wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood and red lining, a red toque, black jeans with a black belt with silver studs and a black backpack.
Police believe the suspect to be violent, armed and dangerous. If located do not approach. Please call 9-1-1 immediately.
