On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at noon, two awards will be presented by the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). Yorkdale Shopping Centre will receive the "Celebrating Impact in Corporate Fundraising" award for its contribution to the CCS. Staff Sergeant Chris Boddy of the Toronto Police Service will receive the "Celebrating Impact in Community Leadership" award for his exceptional contributions and selfless volunteer leadership. Staff Sergeant Boddy will then shave his head for the seventh time at the Cops for Cancer launch, to inspire his colleagues and the public to join the cause.

Participating members of the Toronto Police Service, Deputy Chief Mike Federico, Canadian Cancer Society representatives and cancer survivors will be on hand to answer questions from the media and the public.

Since 1999, Cops for Cancer has raised more than $900,000 in Toronto to support cancer research. With the help of the Toronto Police Service, Yorkdale Shopping Centre hopes to raise $100,000 in 2015, in order to reach the $1 million mark. Last year, alone, the Yorkdale Cops for Cancer event raised approximately $133,000.
