On Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 6:34 p.m., police responded to a call for a stabbing in an apartment at 330 Jarvis Street.
Officers arrived to find a man suffering from what appeared to be multiple serious stab/slash wounds. Officers began first aid. The man was taken to hospital via emergency run, where he was later pronounced.
He is identified as Brent Gartner, 51, of Toronto.
Shortly after responding to the first radio call, officers responded to a call for a man suffering from an injury, a short distance away.
Officers arrived and provided first aid. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Investigators have now identified this man as the suspect in the stabbing. He is in police custody.
