The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the community about an arrest in a Bank Robbery investigation.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 11 a.m., a man walked into a bank branch in the Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- he approached the teller and handed her a note
- the note made a demand for money
- the teller opened the cash drawer and walked away
- the man fled having obtained nothing
- he was last seen walking towards the TTC subway
On Wednesday, December 17, 2014, about one hour later, the same man walked into a bank branch in the Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West area.
It is alleged that:
- he approached the teller and handed her a note demanding money
- he was given a quantity of money
- he demanded more but was refused
- he fled the bank
On Friday, January 2, 2015, Noor Osman-Noor, 33, of Toronto, was arrested for these robberies. He has been charged with:
1) two counts of Robbery
2) two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, January 3, 2015, 10 a.m., room 101.
