On Monday, October 6, 2014, at approximately 2:44 p.m., police responded to a call in the Shuter Street and Trefann Street area for the sound of gunshots.
Once on scene, police located a man in his late teens with obvious signs of injury. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The victim has now been identified as Yusuf Ali, 18, of Toronto. The cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds.
The suspect is described as wearing all black with a hoodie. The suspect was last seen going northbound on Regent Street. Homicide investigators are reviewing security video footage collected from the surrounding area.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information to contact investigators.
