Police request assistance with Robbery Investigation, Update, Brendan Smith, 23, arrested Now facing three charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a robbery investigation.

On Friday, August 29, 2014, at 7:05 p.m., a man, 42, was entering the Danforth GO Train Station at Main Street south of Danforth Avenue.

See previous release.

It is alleged that:

- investigators have been able to link the same man to two other robberies.

- on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at approximately 3 p.m., a woman, 74, was walking in the Danforth Avenue and Main Street area.

- she was approached from behind by a man

- he grabbed her gold necklace and ripped it off

It is further alleged that:

- on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at approximately 12:25 p.m., a woman was walking along the sidewalk, pushing her baby stroller, in the Danforth Avenue and Main Street area.

- she was approached from behind by a man

- he grabbed her gold necklace and ripped it from her

- she fell backwards during this attack

Brendan Smith, 23, of Toronto is charged with:

1) Three Counts of Robbery

On Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 10 a.m., he was scheduled to appear in court at College Park.

Police believe there may be more victims.
