The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance locating Anthony Joseph Maiorano, 32, a wanted fugitive.
It is alleged that:
- he was convicted of Aggravated Assault in 2007, and was serving his 20-year sentence at a Georgia correctional facility
- he was released on a one-day permit in April 2014, and never returned
- on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, he was spotted in Oakville by Halton Regional Police Service
- he was a passenger in a car, and fled on foot when they saw police
He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the word "Facebook" in white lettering on the front. He is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, do not approach. Call 9-1-1.
The Toronto Fugitive Squad is working closely with the Halton Regional Police Service and the Department of Justice - International Assistance Group.
Anthony Joseph Maiorano has ties to the Greater Toronto Area. Anyone who is found assisting him will be charged and prosecuted.
