The Toronto Police Service has made an arrest in relation to an alleged contractor fraud scam that targets vulnerable senior citizens.
It is alleged that:
- a man who owns a company named Home Pro Exterior Services, formerly known as Canadian Home Services Ltd, engaged in a series of unnecessary repair jobs to an 88-year-old man's home
- the homeowner was billed $20,000 for the repairs and the company received a payment for the uncompleted home repair work
On Thursday, August 14, 2014, Scott Esmail, 33 of Richmond Hill, was charged with:
1) Fraud Exceeding $5,000
He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, October 8, 2014.
Police believe there may be more victims.
