On Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:14 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at St. Clair Avenue West at Lansdowne Avenue.
It is reported that:
- a 68-year-old man and 65-year-old man were standing on St. Clair Avenue West, in the centre of the streetcar right-of-way
- a 54-year-old man was driving a streetcar westbound on St. Clair Avenue West, approaching the two men
- for unknown reasons, the 68-year-old man stepped backwards into the path of the streetcar and was struck
- the 65 year-old man was also struck by the streetcar
The 68-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. The 65-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
