Two men arrested in firearm investigation, Rifles similar assault rifle and other guns seized, Samee Khan, 19, and Patrick Randell, 22, face 44 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests and seizures in a firearm investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, July 31, 2014, investigators were granted search warrants for two homes in the Markham Road/Eglinton Avenue East area

- during the search, two rifles similar to assault rifles, a sawed-off shotgun, a 9 mm handgun, a drum magazine, and ammunition were seized

Samee Khan, 19, and Patrick Randell, 22, both of Toronto, were arrested. They are both charged with:

1) three counts of Possession of firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
2) three counts of Unauthorized possession of firearm
3) three counts of Possession of firearm obtained by crime
4) three counts of Careless storage of firearm
5) three counts of Careless storage of ammunition
6) two counts of Possession of prohibited firearm
7) Possession of marijuana

Samee Khan is further charged with:

1) Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
2) Possession of firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
3) Unauthorized possession of firearm
4) Possession of firearm obtained by crime
5) Careless storage of firearm
6) two counts of Possession of prohibited device
7) Possession of cocaine
8) Possession of hashish

They were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Friday, August 1, 2014, 10 a.m.
