The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a shooting investigation.
On Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at approximately 7:40 p.m., police received a call for a shooting on Varna Drive, in the Lawrence Heights area.
It is reported that:
- a boy was walking northbound on Varna Drive, near Dorney Court, when a vehicle(s) drove up to him
- the suspect(s) engaged in a brief conversation before shots were fired from within the vehicle, striking the boy
- the suspect(s) drove off southbound on Varna Drive
The boy was rushed to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are looking for a silver or white, newer-model Toyota Camry. A second vehicle was possibly involved; it is being described as a dark-colored Mazda or Nissan.
