On Wednesday, February 5, 2014, the Toronto Police Service released the following information:
As a result, Thanh Tung Phan, 27, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) First-Degree Murder
2) two counts of Criminal Harassment
He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, April 10, 2014.

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance with a shooting investigation.On Thursday, April 10, 2014, in the early-morning hours, several search warrants were executed in Toronto.
It was reported that:
- on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, police were called to the area of Yonge Street and Deloraine Avenue at approximately 9:20 p.m., for a report of the sound of gun shots
- officers arriving on scene found a man in his 20s suffering from obvious injuries
- the man was taken to a hospital via emergency run
- the man was pronounced dead at the hospital
The man has been identified as Peter Nguyen, 26, of Toronto. A post-mortem examination is yet to be scheduled.
The police are looking for two suspects, both described as men dressed in dark clothing. They were last seen leaving the area on foot, traveling westbound on Melrose Avenue from Yonge Street.
