Man wanted in bank robbery, Security camera images released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a bank robbery investigation in the Bloor Street West and Windermere Avenue area.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 3:10 p.m., a man walked into a bank branch.

It is reported that:

- he approached the teller

- he leaned into the counter and displayed a knife in his hand

- he made a threat to the teller, then demanded money

- he was given a quantity of money, then he left the branch

On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 3:45 p.m., the man approached another bank branch down the street.

It is reported that:

- he approached the teller and made a demand for money

- when the teller hesitated, he produced a box cutter and made a threat

- he fled the bank, running towards Runnymede subway station

He is described as white, 35-40, unshaven. He was wearing a black winter coat, sunglasses, a blue-and-grey toque, and a red-and-black scarf.

Police would like to warn the public that this man is believed to be armed and dangerous. Please do not approach him. Call 9-1-1.
