The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a sexual assault investigation.
On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a Sexual Assault in the Sherbourne Street and Dundas Street East area.
It is alleged that:
- a 56-year-old woman entered a condo building, then accessed the elevator and proceeded to an apartment unit
- an unknown man was inside the building prior to her arrival
- the man was in the stairwell of the building committing indecent acts and propositioning women in the building for sex
- he entered the lobby and assaulted the woman
- he followed her into the elevator and exited when she did
- he continued to verbally abuse her as she was walking towards the apartment unit
- he followed her into the unit and sexually assaulted her
On Monday, May 31, 2021, Cody Rodgers, 23, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. Indecent Act
2. Assault with a Weapon
3. Break and Enter
4. Aggravated Sexual Assault
5. Assault by Choking
He is scheduled to appear virtually in court at College Park Courts, Tuesday, June 1, 2021, 10 a.m., room 507.
