On Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 6:43 p.m., police received a report for a collision at Rexdale Boulevard and Queen’s Plate Drive.
It is reported that:
- a 70-year-old man was driving a Hyundai east on Rexdale Boulevard
- he had a 71-year-old woman as a front passenger
- a 26-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Equinox, travelling west on Rexdale Boulevard approaching Queen’s Plate Drive
- the driver of the Hyundai turned left in front of the Equinox, causing a significant collision.
- the 71-year-old woman succumbed to injuries at the scene
- both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.
