The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in connection with six armed robberies in Toronto and York Region.
Between Sunday, October 27, 2013, and Friday, December 20, 2013, four Shoppers Drug Mart stores in York Region and two Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Toronto were robbed by the same man.
It is alleged that:
- in each case, a man attended the pharmacy and produced a note demanding a quantity of narcotics
- as he made the demands, he brandished a firearm
As a result of an investigation by the Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad and the York Regional Police Hold Up Squad, on Saturday, December 21, 2013, officers arrested Yasher Kazemkhani, 32, and seized a replica handgun.
Kazemkhani is facing the following charges:
1. six counts of Armed Robbery
2. three counts of Disguise with Intent
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10 a.m.
