Man arrested in Armed Robbery Investigation, Bloor Street West and Ossington Avenue area

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in an armed robbery investigation.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a man attended a fast food restaurant in the Bloor Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- a man walked directly to the counter with his face covered with a black bandana and carrying an imitation shotgun

- he pointed the imitation shotgun at the store employee and made a demand for money

- fearing for her safety and of being robbed, the employee ran to the rear of the restaurant

- he left the restaurant without obtaining any funds

Abdiaftah Duale, 34, of Toronto, was arrested after a separate firearm investigation.

He was additionally charged by Hold Up for:

1. Robbery with imitation firearm
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Weapons Dangerous

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 10 a.m., room 101.
