The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in a firearm investigation.
On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at approximately 6:54 a.m., an officer responded to a call for a Person with a Gun in the Bloor Street West and Ossington Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- a man walked to the front of a Paramedic station
- he was holding a shotgun and yelling at the medics
- he pointed the gun at the medics then donned a mask
- the situation was de-escalated and he was arrested by a Toronto Police officer
- the shotgun that was recovered was determined to be a replica.
Abdiaftah Duale, 34, of Toronto, has been charged with:
1. Point a Firearm
2. Uttering Death Threats
3. Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
4. Use Disguise in the Commission of Offense
5. Fail to Comply with Recognizance
6. Breach of Probation
7. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
8. Fail to Return to Court
He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 10 a.m.
