The Toronto Police Service is partnering with Circle K Stores to recognize positive youth behavior, and have an opportunity for officers to interact with and reward those youth.
Created in 2007, Operation Freeze and the Positive Ticketing campaign is part of Circle K's Crime Prevention Through Community Engagement strategy and provides police officers with the opportunity to engage in the "positive ticketing" of young people observed to be doing random acts of kindness or demonstrating socially responsible behaviours. The "ticket", provided by Circle K, is a coupon for a free small Froster beverage.
Circle K will be hosting the launch of the youth initiative called “Positive Ticketing - Operation Freeze” in 31 Division. Since the introduction of the Positive Ticketing Program, more than 1.6 million positive ticket coupons have been strategically issued by police officers to recognize and motivate Ontario’s youth for positive behaviour.
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. at the Circle K Store located at 400 Jane Street.
Officers will be accompanied by students from a local school along with representatives from Circle K Stores, Toronto Crime Stoppers, and Auxiliary Officers.
For further information, please contact Police Constable Dan Ramos #10118, of the Community Partnerships and Engagement Unit at: 416-808-0135 or dan.ramos@torontopolice.on.ca.
