Constable John Zivcic's funeral service, Monday, December 9, 2013, 11 a.m., Funeral procession route and road closures, Cadet-in-Training graduation photo released

Constable John Zivcic's funeral will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the Toronto Congress Centre, North Building, 650 Dixon Road. A reception will immediately follow.

Parking for officers attending the service will be available at the Toronto Congress Centre, in designated areas. Personnel will be on site to assist in directing members to available spots. Public parking is also available.

The doors to the building will open at 10 a.m., for anyone attending the funeral service and not participating in the march. Seating is available to the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis.

TTC shuttle buses will transport those participating in the funeral march from the Congress Centre to the mustering area at Canlan Ice Sports - Etobicoke, at 1120 Martin Grove Road. Shuttle buses will run from 7 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., to the mustering area. There is no parking available at Canlan Ice Sports.

Alternatively, the Toronto Congress Centre is directly accessible by the TTC. You can travel to the Lawrence West subway station and transfer to the Malton #58 bus, or travel to the Kipling subway station and transfer to the Martin Grove #46 bus. Both of these buses will take you directly to the Toronto Congress Centre.

Martin Grove Road, between Bethridge Road and Dixon Road, all lanes, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to facilitate the procession.

Highway 409 and Highway 401 exit ramps at Martin Grove Road, northbound and southbound, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to facilitate the procession.

The cortege will leave Delmoro Funeral Home, at 61 Beverly Hills Drive, and travel the following route:

- westbound on Wilson Avenue
- continuing along Walsh Avenue
- continuing along Albion Road
- westbound on Elmhurst Drive
- southbound on Islington Avenue
- westbound on Rexdale Boulevard
- southbound on Martin Grove Road

Step-off for the procession will be at 9:20 a.m., sharp, with officers marching southbound on Martin Grove Road, from Canlan Ice Sports to the Congress Centre driveway, north of Dixon Road, turning right to the front doors of the North Building.

Officers will line both sides of the streets, along the procession route, and salute Constable Zivcic as the funeral cortege drives past on the way to the Toronto Congress Centre.
