It is with great sadness that we inform the members of the Toronto Police Service and the public that Constable John Zivcic succumbed to his injuries at 12:35 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013.
He was surrounded by his family.

In addition, our thoughts are with John's friends and colleagues at 22 Division and across the city. We are a family here at the Service and we are all grieving this devastating news.
We are grateful for the outpouring of support that we have received from the public.
The Service and the Toronto Police Association (TPA) are here to support the family as they move forward in this process and to support our officers as they grieve the loss of John.
The Office of the Chief and the TPA are working closely with the family on making funeral arrangements. We will issue an update when details are available.
