Arrests made in Toronto & London Retail Robberies, Man and Woman Arrested

The Toronto Police Service Hold-Up Squad would like to make the public aware of arrests made for robberies linked to the Toronto and London area.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, January 14, 2019, at 2:15 a.m., a man and woman drove a black Honda Civic with Nova Scotia license plates to a gas station in an area outside of London, Ontario

- the woman entered the store posing as a customer

- she purchased a coffee and returned to the vehicle

- the man, who was armed with a black handgun, entered the store wearing a ski-style mask and a hoody pulled over his head

- the man approached the store clerk and made a demand for money, which he received

- they both fled the area in a vehicle


It is further alleged that:

- on Monday, January 14, 2019, at 8:35 p.m., a masked man entered a gas station in the east end of Toronto

- the man was armed with a long black firearm

- the man made a demand for money to the store employee

- a struggle ensued between them and the mask was pulled off the man

- the man was recognized as being a previous employee

- the man then brandished a knife and cut the 42-year-old man in the neck and fled

- police arrived on scene and located the vehicle

- both the man and woman were arrested


An AR15 replica rifle was located inside the vehicle. The store employee received non-life-threatening injuries.


Lorne Eric Norton, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested. He was charged with:

1. Robbery with a Firearm
2. Two counts of Disguise with Intent
3. Uttering Threats
4. Robbery with a firearm
5. Aggravated assault

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park Court, on Friday, January 18, 2019, in room 507.


Danielle Vickey MacNeil, 20, of no fixed address, was arrested. She was charged with:

1. Two counts of Robbery with a Firearm

She was scheduled to appear in court at College Park Court, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, in room 501.
