Two men each facing 29 charges in break-and-enter investigation in Middlefield Road and Finch Avenue East area, Third suspect sought

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of two arrests in connection with a series of break-and-enters and request the public's assistance locating a third suspect.

On Saturday, September, 21st, 2013, at 5:20 p.m., police responded to a call for an attempted break-and-enter in the Warden Avenue and Finch Avenue East area.

It is alleged that:

- at least three men attempted to enter a residence

- a description of the men was obtained

- police located the men in the Middlefield Road and Finch Avenue East area, but the men ran from police

- police were able to catch two of the men but the third remains at large

- when arrested, the two men were found to be in possession of a large quantity of stolen property, including electronics, jewellery and cash

Rutal Hankey, 32, of Toronto and Tashane Blair, 21, of Hamilton, are each facing 29 charges in connection with this incident as well as a number of other break-and-enters in the area over the past few months:

1. Break and Enter Commit (21 charges)
2. Attempt Break and Enter with Intent (2 charges)
3. Possession of Burglary Tools (2 charges)
4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (2 charges)
5. Possession of Proceeds of Crime (2 charges)

The third man is described as black, 25-30, 5'11", wearing a dark hooded sweater, dark pants and a dark baseball cap. He was carrying a small black umbrella and dark backpack.

Hankey and Blair were scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, September, 22, 2013, at 9 a.m.
