On Wednesday, September 3, 2013, officers from the TPS Hold Up Squad arrested a man in connection with a series of robberies in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Kipling Avenue area.
It is alleged that:
- between August 17, 2013 and September 1, 2013, the accused committed four retail store robberies while armed with a knife
- in one case, the storekeeper was assaulted several times by the accused
- the accused also committed two bank robberies and told the victims he was armed with a handgun
Michael Wright, 34, Toronto, has been charged with:
1) four counts of Robbery
2) two counts of Robbery while armed with firearm
3) four counts of Weapons Dangerous
4) six counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, room 206, at 10 a.m.
