The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public regarding two linked cold-case investigations dating back to September 2002.
It was reported that:
- on Friday, September 27, 2002, at 1 a.m. a 32-year-old female sex trade worker was sexually assaulted by a man inside his parked white cargo van in the College Street and Spadina Avenue area

It was further reported that:
- on the same day, at 1:50 a.m., a 43-year-old female sex trade worker was assaulted and sexually assaulted in the same vehicle by the same man in the Cherry Street and Front Street East area

The suspect is described as white, 30-40, 6', with a medium build.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a white cargo van, possibly a Ford, with two doors and the word "Smooth" on the side of the van.
Police have released a composite photo of the suspect's vehicle that was produced with the assistance of the women.
Police are asking the public to turn their minds back to September 2002 and recall if they remember a van with the word "SMOOTH" in large letters on the side of it.
