Police would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a fraud investigation.
It is alleged that:
- over approximately a one-year-period, the accused befriended an elderly woman and systemically defrauded her by using her debit and credit cards for cash advances, alcohol purchases and trips to local strip bars
- in total, the victim was defrauded of more than $36,000
Mark Ninchritz, 48, of Toronto, is charged with:
1. Fraud Over $5,000
2. three counts of Use Credit Card Obtained by Crime
He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
Police believe there may be more victims. A photograph of the accused has been released.
