The Toronto Police Service would like to warn the public about a man wanted in an Aggravated Assault/Robbery investigation.
On Saturday, October 21, 2017, at noon, officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the Weybourne Crescent and Dinnick Crescent area.
It is reported that:
- a 19-year-old woman was walking alone through Lawrence Park near Lawrence Avenue and Yonge Street
- a man approached her from behind
- he made a demand for money, then produced an edged weapon
- he slashed her about the face, then fled the area
- the woman was taken to hospital and treated for her injuries
The man is described as white, olive complexion, 5’7”, thin build, 20s, small face, dark-brown or black greasy or unwashed hair, eyebrows described as prominent, sparse pencil-thin moustache. He was wearing a black oversized hoodie with pockets and black baggy sweatpants with elasticized bottoms.
This incident occurred in daylight near a busy park. Investigators wish to speak to anyone who may have images or video taken in the area at that time.
Police believe the man to be armed, extremely violent and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
