On Tuesday, August 20, 2013, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., at 50 Falstaff Avenue, Toronto Police Service Deputy Chief Peter Sloly will deputize children as constables from the Falstaff community.
This event is one of the community initiatives that officers assigned to the 12 Division Neighbourhood TAVIS have participated in this summer.
These junior constables will be tasked with various duties from radio communication to forensic identification.
Being a constable for a day will give these children an opportunity to meet and spend time with officers from their local police division.
It is anticipated that 60 children, ages of six to 13 years, will participate.
The media is invited to attend.
For more information, contact Staff Sergeant Joanne Rudnick at 416-808-1279.
