The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Karima Mehrab, 37, was last seen on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at approximately 3 p.m., in the Bay Street and Queens Quay West area.

She is described as 5'3", 115 lbs., black long wavy hair, and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing black jeans, grey Roots hooded sweatshirt, black Doc Martin high top boots, black long Canada Goose winter jacket, and a yellow or green Uniqlo purse with black strap.

She is known to frequent the Harbourfront and Toronto Island area.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Man Arrested for Retail Robbery, Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East area, Omar Karl Burk, 24

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested in relation to a retail robbery that occurred in Toronto.

On Thursday, December 17, 2020, a retail store robbery was committed in the Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East area .

It is alleged that:

- a lone man entered the store and approached an employee while concealing his face with a mask

- he then pulled out a knife and made a demand for cash

- the man took cash and lottery tickets before fleeing the scene on foot

Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify a man and officers from 43 Division were able to locate him.

On Friday, December 18, 2020, Omar Karl Burk, 24, of no fixed address, was arrested.

He is facing the following two charges:

1. one count of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
2. one count of Disguise With Intent

He appeared in court on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Old City Hall, 60 Queen Street West, Room 114.

Man Arrested for five Retail Robberies, Downtown Toronto area, Jessie Farr, 24

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man arrested in relation to five retail robberies that occurred in Toronto.

Between Friday, January 31, 2020 and Thursday, February 12, 2020, five retail store robberies were committed in the downtown Toronto area.

It is alleged that:

- in each incident, a lone man would enter a store and spend time walking around pretending to shop

- he would then take items off the shelves

- when confronted, the man would pull out either a knife or a syringe and threatened employees with it

- he would then flee the scene on foot with the stolen items

Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify a man.

On Friday, December 18, 2020, Jessie Farr, 24, Bruce County, was arrested.

He is facing the following 32 charges:

1. six counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
2. six counts of Possession of Weapon
3. six counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
4. three counts of Utter Threats
5. four counts of Assault With Intent to Resist Arrest
6. seven counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He appeared in court on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 10 a.m., at 60 Queen Street West Court, Room 112

Karima Mehrab, 37, was last seen on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at approximately 3 p.m., in the Bay Street and Queens Quay West area.

She was located Monday, December 21, 2020, at 9:15 a.m.

Cassandra Morrissey, 14, was last seen on Monday, December 21, 2020 at approximately 9 p.m., in the 26th Street and Lakeshore Boulevard West area.

She is described as 5'3", medium build with short wavy brown hair.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans and black puffy jacket.

Arson Investigation, Queen Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue area, Images released

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arson investigation.

On Sunday, December 20, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., police investigated fires in the Queen Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- a man set debris on fire near buildings

- the fires could have easily spread

-a few hours later, another fire occurred near the same area

It is believed both fires may be linked.

The suspect is described as having dark scruffy hair and beard. He was last seen wearing multiple layers of dark clothing

Images of a suspect have been released.

Lost Instrument, Lorenzo-Carcassi 1757 Concert Violin in a bright red BAM case, Update, Now a theft investigation, Suspect images released

The Toronto Police Service is appealing to the public to help identify a suspect in a violin theft investigation.

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, investigators from 13 Division requested assistance in locating what was believed to be a lost violin and a news release was issued.

At the time, it was reported that a man had left his Lorenzo-Carcassi 1757 Concert violin which was in a bright red BAM case on the TTC Subway on Friday, December 18, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Investigators are now treating this as a theft investigation and are releasing two security camera images of a suspect they want to identify.

The suspect was last seen on Friday, December 18, 2020, exiting Dufferin Station with the violin on his back. He was also seen the next day in the subway.

He is described as in his 50s, wearing a grey winter jacket, blue jeans and a white toque.

Investigators would like everyone to review the photos and contact police immediately if anyone recognizes the man, see him or the violin. The owner would like the violin returned before the holidays.

Man facing multiple charges including robbery and assaulting an officer, Jarvis Street and Gerrard Street East area, Dujaughn Anthony McKenzie, 24

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad is making the public aware of an arrest in relation to a retail robbery that occurred in Toronto.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, a retail store robbery was committed in the Jarvis Street and Gerrard Street East area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the store and selected a new backpack which he began filling with his own personal items

- he was not wearing a mask and an employee reminded him of the COVID-19 protocols requiring a mask

- he pulled out a lighter and attempted to light the employee on fire

- he then exited the store with the backpack and was confronted by an employee

- he began to assault the employee by biting the employee on the arm

- he once again tried to light the employee on fire before fleeing the scene on foot

Officers from 51 Division quickly responded and located a man nearby.

It is further alleged that:

- the same man began to fight with the responding police officers

- he spat at the officers and threatened to kill them

- the officers were able to subdue him and placed him under arrest

- the stolen backpack was recovered


On Monday, December 21, 2020, Dujaughn Anthony McKenzie, 24, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

1. two counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
2. two counts of Assault Peace Officer
3. Assault
4. Uttering Threats
5. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under
6. Fail to Comply Release Order

He appeared in court at College Park on Monday, December 21, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 507

Arrest Made in Homicide #71/2020, 118 Nymark Avenue

The Toronto Police Service are informing the public of an arrest in relation to a homicide investigation.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, at approximately 8:49 p.m., police were called to the area of 118 Nymark Avenue for reports of a stabbing.

It is alleged that:

- once on scene, police located a 72-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds

- life-saving measures were commenced but the man died in hospital a short time later

The 72-year-old man has been identified as Jing Zhang, a visitor from China.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Jingfu Luo, 50, of Toronto, was arrested.

He has been charged with:

1. First Degree Murder

He appeared in court on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Toronto North Court,1000 Finch Avenue West.

Man wanted in Robbery with a Firearm Investigation, Spadina Avenue and Sullivan Street area, Ainsley Anthony Warmington, 50, Images Released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in a robbery with a firearm investigation.

On Friday, December 4, 2020, at approximately 1:50 p.m., officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the Spadina Avenue and Sullivan Street area.

It was reported that:

- a man held several victims at gun point and robbed them of their belongings

- he then proceeded to stab and slash one of the victims repeatedly resulting in serious but non-life threatening injuries

- the man fled the area northbound on Spadina Avenue in a silver 2007 5 Series BMW

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ainsley Anthony Warmington, 50, of Toronto.

He is wanted for the following ten charges:

1. two counts of Pointing a Firearm
2. two counts of Robbery with a Firearm
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
6. Aggravated Assault
7. two counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

He is described as 5’10” 190 lbs., a shaved head, with a muscular build, has facial tattoos, may have facial piercings including a bar piercing in the bridge of his nose and is known to wear a gold grill in his mouth. See images released.

Suspect identity sought in Sexual Assault Investigation, Eglinton Avenue East and Falmouth Road area Images released

Toronto Police is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault investigation.

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at approximately 3 p.m., police responded to a sexual assault in the Eglinton Avenue East and Falmouth Road area.

It is reported that:

- between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., a woman got off a TTC bus and was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her

The man is described as being in late 20s, slim build, approximately 5’8. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweater, black shirt, black jogging pants, and a black baseball cap.

Images have been released.

41 Division investigators want to identify the suspect and are asking anyone with any information about the man pictured to contact to the police.

The Service issued a news release on Friday, November 20, 2020, requesting assistance looking for Amethyst Campbell, 32, of Toronto.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, she was arrested and charged with:

1. Assault
2. two counts of Threatening Bodily Harm

She appeared in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

The Toronto Police Service can confirm a stolen violin has now been located.

Officers continue to appeal to the public to help identify a suspect.

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, investigators from 13 Division requested assistance in locating what was believed to be a lost violin and a news release was issued.

The violin will now be returned to the owner.

The suspect is still outstanding and officers hope that someone can identify him.

Project Cosmo, Million dollar fraud investigation, Update, Woman identified and other woman still to be identified

The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on an ongoing Financial Crimes Fraud investigation.

This investigation - dubbed Project Cosmo - has spanned over a year and three people were previously arrested and charged.

Earlier this year, officers in the Toronto Police Financial Crimes Unit – Corporate Crimes Section conducted an investigation into a cosmetic ponzi scheme targeting the Filipino community in North York and the Greater Toronto Area.

That investigation focused on several fraudulent Canadian business transactions.

The companies allegedly involved are named as:

Mac Glamour Ltd.

Infy Trading Incorporated

B + E Investments


On Friday, December 18, 2020, investigators requested assistance identify two women and a news release was issued.

Person of Interest # 1 was spoken to by investigators and she has since been eliminated from their inquiries.

The media are asked to remove her image.

The investigation remains ongoing and officers are still hoping to identify the other woman.

She is described as 28-30 and spoke English.

A security camera image has been re-released of Person of Interest # 2.

Theodore Medeiros, 17, was last seen on Saturday, December 19, 2020, in the Yonge Street and Shuter Street area, frequents the Withrow Park area and is familiar with all parts of Toronto.

He is described as 5’4”, short brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue jacket and Nike running shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Robert Fletcher, 47, was last seen in November, 2020 in the Sackville Street and Carlton Street area.

He was reported missing on Monday, December 14, 2020.

He is described as 47, 5'6", thin build, long dirty blond and grey hair worn in a ponytail, clean shaven, green eyes, has a tattoo of the head of the Grim Reaper in colour on his left upper arm.

He was last seen wearing a red jacket, baseball cap and a large black backpack.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Man Arrested for two Retail Robberies and a Break & Enter, Ellesmere Road and Markham Road area, Clary Scott Galbraith, 35

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad have arrested a man in relation to two retail robberies and a break and enter investigation.

Between Tuesday, December 15, 2020 and Sunday, December 20, 2020, two retail store robberies and a break and enter were committed in the Ellesmere Road and Markham Road area.

It is alleged that:

- in each robbery incident, a lone man entered the store and immediately approached the service counter

- he indicated that he had a gun and made a demand for cash

- the man took the cash before fleeing the scene on foot

- in the break and enter incident, the man smashed the front glass door to gain entry to the store

- once inside, he took cash before fleeing the scene on foot

With the assistance of the 43 Division Field Intelligence Officer and 43 Major Crime Unit, Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify a man.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Clary Scott Galbraith, 35, of Toronto was arrested. He is facing the following eight charges:

1. three counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
2. three counts of Disguise With Intent
3. one count of Uttering Threats
4. one count of Break & Enter Commit

He was scheduled to attend court on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10 a.m., at Toronto East Court, 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, Room 412

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad is advising the public of an arrest in relation to two retail robberies that occurred in Toronto.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, two retail store robberies were committed in the Ellesmere Road and McCowan Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a lone man entered the first store with a mask on and his hood over his head in an attempt to conceal his identity

- he approached the service counter and pulled out a knife while making a demand for cash

- unable to get any property, he fled the store empty-handed

- the man ran to the second store and entered it while waving the knife around and making demands

- he indicated he had a gun and threatened to shoot the employee

- again, unable to get any property, he fled the store empty-handed

43 Division offices arrived on scene and quickly located a man.

Aaron Michael McGee, 39, of Toronto was arrested. He is facing the following six charges:

1. two counts of Robbery With Offensive Weapon
2. two counts of Disguise With Intent
3. one count of Uttering Threats
4. one count of Possession of a Weapon

He appeared in court for a Bail Hearing on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Toronto East Court, 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, Room 412
