Man wanted in Theft Over $5,000 investigation, Chase Kincaid, 32

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating a man wanted for several thefts from LCBO locations.

It is alleged that:

- since June 5, 2018, a man has been attending various LCBO stores throughout Toronto

- once inside, he selects varying types of liquor bottles, places them in a bag that he is carrying and walks out of the store without making any attempt to pay

- he was last seen on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in the Burnhamthorpe Road and Saturn Road area

- the same man is responsible for the theft of over $58,000.00 worth of liquor

Chase Kincaid, 32, of no fixed address, is wanted for:

1) Theft Over $5,000.00

His photo has been released.

2019 East York Canada Day Events, Road Closures

On Monday, July 1, 2019, the annual East York Canada Day parade will be taking place at 10 a.m. The parade will begin near Dieppe Park and finish at approximately 1 p.m., at Stan Wadlow Park.

Participants will assemble for the parade beginning at 9 a.m., and depart at 10 a.m.

Below outlines the route information:

Formation Area: Cosburn Avenue - Greenwood Avenue to Barfield Avenue

- Eastbound Cosburn Avenue to Coxwell Avenue
- Southbound Coxwell Avenue to Sammon Avenue
- Eastbound Sammon Avenue to Woodbine Avenue
- Northbound Woodbine Avenue to O’Connor Drive

Dispersal Area:

- floats and participants will disperse in the Shopper’s Drug Mart parking lot
- spectators, Stan Wadlow Park via Trenton Avenue.

Stan Wadlow Park festivities continue throughout the day and conclude with a fireworks display beginning at 10:15 p.m., weather permitting.

The following road closure will be in effect during this event:

- Cosburn Avenue from Cedarvale Avenue to Oak Park beginning at 7 a.m. - 12 a.m. (midnight)

Motorists can expect delays.

Police request help in Theft of Dog investigation, Wood Street and Church Street

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a stolen dog in a theft investigation.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a theft in the Wood Street and Church Street area.

It is reported that:

- a 70-year-old man was walking his Yorkshire Terrier named Tuzik

- a man approached him and asked to pet his dog

- the man picked up the dog, unhooked the leash, then fled with the dog

The suspect is described as white, 30-35, short blond hair, 6’0", thin build, wearing a light-coloured shirt and dark pants.

Man arrested in sexual assault investigation, Multiple women assaulted

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public about a sexual assault investigation.

On Friday, June 28, 2019, between 9-10 a.m., officers responded to multiple calls for sexual assaults on Yonge Street, between College Street and Dundas Street.

It is alleged that:

- a man on a bicycle and while walking approached five different women

- he sexually assaulted all of them at different times

Anthony Wilson, 33, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. five counts of Sexual Assault

He appeared at Old City Hall on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators believe there may be other victims.

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Mark Anthony Smith, 29, was last seen on Friday, June 21, 2019, at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the Yonge Street and Carlton Street area.

He is described as 5’9", 130 lbs., with short brown hair, clean shaven, and hazel eyes. He is believed to be wearing a waist-length black jacket, black t-shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black baseball cap with “LA” written on front.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public Safety Alert, High-risk sex offender arrested, Joanasie Mingeriak, 28, of Toronto

The Toronto Police Service would like to alert the public of the arrest of a high-risk sex offender twice within a 30-day period.

In March 2019, Joanasie Mingeriak, 28, of Toronto, was released by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. He has an extensive criminal history of break and enters and sex-related crimes. He began residing in the area of 13 Division.

On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, officers responded to a call for a break and enter in the St Clair Avenue West and Christie Street area.

It is alleged that:

- two women woke in the middle of the night

- a strange man was sitting in their living room undressed

Joanasie Mingeriak, 28, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Break and Enter
2. Indecent Exposure
3. Nude and Exposed to Public on Private Property
4. two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation

He attended court and was released with conditions.

On Friday, June 28, 2019, he was again arrested and charged for breaches of boundaries in his conditions:

1. two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
2. Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He appeared at Old City Hall on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Man wanted in multiple break and enter investigations, Roderick Duval, 39

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance locating a man wanted in three break and enter investigations.

On Saturday, May 25, 2019, at approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a call for a break and enter in the Dundas Street East and Sackville Street area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered an office building

- he broke into a locked room

- he stole a quantity of money then fled

Roderick Duval, 39, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1. three counts of Break and Enter
2. Obstruct Peace Officer
3. Theft Over $5,000

A photograph of him is released.

He is known to be violent. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Homicide #29/2019, Danzig Street and Morningside Avenue, Jaydin Simpson,

On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 11:33 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the Danzig Street and Morningside Avenue area.

Officers located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

He has been identified as Jaydin Simpson, 17, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2019. Cause of death was determined to be from gunshots.

There were crowds of people present in the area when this shooting occurred. The police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for his murder.

Homicide #30/2019 and #31/2019, 55 Emmett Avenue

On Saturday, June 29, 2019, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a call for the sound of gunshots at 55 Emmett Avenue.

Officers arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man was taken to hospital via emergency run. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased in hospital. The other man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The first man has been identified as Christopher Teape, 25, of Toronto.

The second man has been identified as Ahmed Mohamud, 32, of Toronto.

Post-mortem examinations are scheduled for Sunday, June 30, 2019.

A third man was also shot. He made his own way to hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may have information, pictures or video taken in the area at the time of this shooting.

Homicide #32/2019, 82 Peter Street

On Sunday, June 30, 2019, at approximately 2:56 a.m., officers responded to a call for an Unknown Trouble at Orchid Nightclub, 82 Peter Street.

At closing time, staff members located a man, inside the nightclub, who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police and paramedics transported him to hospital via emergency run. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Jordan Armstrong, 33, of Markham.

Police are urging any patrons of Orchid Nightclub to come forward with information, photographs and/or videos taken from inside the nightclub on the night of June 29-30, 2019.

Youth in Policing Initiative, 14th Anniversary Media Launch, Tuesday, July 2, 2019 10 a.m., Toronto Police Headquarters, 40 College Street

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 10 a.m., please join Assistant Deputy Minister David Mitchell, Ministry of Children Community and Social Services Youth Justice Division; Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board Andrew Pringle; Chief of Police Mark Saunders and 2008 YIPI Alumni Police Constable Mamon Ahmed at the Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street; as they congratulate and welcome 153 young people from across the city on being employed for eight weeks in the 2019 Summer Youth in Policing Initiative Program. This year marks the 14th Anniversary of the Toronto Police Service Youth in Policing Initiative Summer Program.

These students will be assigned to various units and divisions. They will gain job experiences and life skills through their work with the police officers and community members. They also have a chance to partake in several community events and training opportunities.

The Youth in Policing Initiative is part of the Government of Ontario’s Youth Opportunities Strategy. This Strategy is helping to build stronger communities by establishing and expanding community programs that help youth achieve a brighter future.

The young people in this program, aged 15-18, represented neighbourhoods throughout the city namely: Mount Olive-Silverstone-Jamestown, Thistletown-Beaumond Heights, Elms-Old Rexdale, Black Creek, South Parkdale, Eglinton East, Kennedy Park, Scarborough Village, Weston-Pellam Park, Mount Dennis, Flemingdon Park, Victoria Village, Crescent Town; Regent Park; and Oakridge.

On Thursday, June 13, 2019, at approximately 11:55 p.m., officers responded to a call for a mischief in the York Street and Bremner Boulevard area.

Suspect #4 has surrendered to police. He is charged with:

1. Mischief Under $5,000

He will appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street on Monday, August 26, 2019, at 9 a.m., in room 1.

He cannot be identified under provisions in the Youth Criminals Justice Act.

Focused On Vulnerable Road Users, Safety for Cyclists Campaign, June 17 – 23, 2109, End Of Campaign Update

Between June 17-23, 2019, the Toronto Police Service delivered a week long enforcement and community engagement campaign that asked drivers to be alert and anticipate to share the road with our vulnerable road users.

Toronto Police Service officers patrolled for drivers who were speeding, driving while distracted, driving while impaired and driving aggressively. With the help of our many media partners and social media, we also started conversations about cycling infrastructure, the dangers cyclists face from being “doored”, vehicles parking in bike lanes and how to register a bicycle with the Toronto Police Service.

Campaign Results:

Total Tickets Issued:

- 1,617 during the campaign
- over 800 of these were for aggressive driving behaviour

Community Engagement:

On social media, we saw many comments and engagement with research.

Personal Injury Collision #42/2019, St. Clair Avenue West at Oakwood Avenue

On Monday, July 1, 2019 at 7:19 a.m., police received a report of a collision at St. Clair Avenue West at Oakwood Avenue.

It is reported that:

- A 2012 Honda Civic motor vehicle operated by a 55-year-old man was travelling west on St. Clair Avenue West approaching Oakwood Avenue

- A 61-year-old woman was walking south across St. Clair Avenue West in the east crosswalk, was struck by the driver of the above vehicle

- she was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.

Assistance sought identifying deceased woman, Donlands Avenue and Millwood Road area, Artist rendering of woman released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a woman who was located in the Donlands Avenue and Millwood Road area.

During the early morning hours of Friday, June 7, 2019, the body of a woman was located with no identification.

Investigators have been unsuccessful in identifying the woman.

She is described as approximately 33-50, 4'8" to 5'2", 88 lbs., slim build with short, straight brown hair with prescription eye glasses. She had no scars, marks or tattoos. She had her natural teeth and appeared to take care of herself well.

She was wearing a green winter coat, grey knitted toque, a blue t-shirt with heart shaped patterns, blue hoodie, blue track pants and brown knee high 'Blondo' leather boots.

Police are looking for a caregiver or next of kin.

An artist rendering has been released.
