Man faces 15 charges in drug investigation, Sawed-off shotgun seized

On Monday, November 18, 2013, members of the Drug Squad arrested a man in a drug trafficking investigation.

It is alleged that:

- the accused was trafficking powder cocaine in the Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East area.

- a C.D.S.A. search warrant was executed at the accused's home and the following was seized: powder cocaine, scales and packaging, a Winchester 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun, 31 rounds of .32 calibre ammunition, seven 12-gauge shotgun shells

Jermaine Douglas, 31, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. four counts of Traffic in Cocaine
2. five counts of Possession of Proceeds of Crime
3. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
4. Careless Storage of Firearm
5. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
6. Possession of a Loaded or Prohibited Firearm
7. Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
8. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

The accused appeared in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.


Missing man and woman, Kiro Blagoevski, 84, and Pavlina Blagoevski, 82

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing man and woman.

Kiro Blagoevski, 84, and Pavlina Blagoevski, 82, were last seen on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at approximately 5:40 p.m., in the Brimely Road and Sheppard Avenue East area. They were driving a green 2003 Ford Focus with Ontario licence plate BAMD 211.

Kiro Blagoevski is described as white, 5'9", 150 lbs., has a moustache and wears glasses.

Pavlina Blagoevski is described as white, 5', 119 lbs., with a small build.

It is believed the couple were headed to a mall on Warden Avenue east of Eglinton Avenue East.

Police are concerned for their safety.

Missing girl, Lynecia Blugh, 14

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing girl.

Lynecia Blugh, 14, was last seen on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 1 p.m., after leaving her residence in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area.

She is described as black, 5'6", 125 lbs., with braided black hair. She was last seen wearing a black-and-red varsity-style jacket, blue jeans and red-and-white Air Jordan running shoes.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Two men face 20 charges in arson investigation

Between September 2013 and November 2013, an investigation has been underway into a series of five fires, that primarily occurred in the downtown area.

It is reported that the fires occurred on:

September 18, 2013, in the Liberty Street/Fraser Avenue area
September 30, 203, in the Liberty Street/Fraser Avenue area
October 10, 2013, in the Old Weston Road/St Clair Avenue West area
October 9, 2013, in the Richmond Street West/Peter Street area
November 5, 2013, in the King Street/Brant Street area

On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, officers on patrol stopped a vehicle.

It is alleged that:

- as a result of the vehicle stop, a homemade-type pipe bomb was located in the vehicle

- the driver and passagner were arrested

- the ETF Bomb Disposal Unit was called and detonated the device in the King Street West and Peter Street area

David Pereira, 36, of Toronto, and Craig Stewart, 44, of Newmarket, have each been charged with:

1. Using Explosives
2. Unlawful Possession of Explosives
3. Possession of Incendiary
4. five counts of Arson Damage to Property
5. Using Explosives

Craig Stewart is additionally charged with:

1. Possession of an Explosive Substance Contrary to Prohibition Order
2. Fail To Comply Recognizance

Both accused appeared in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, 10 a.m., room 101.

Homicide #8/2008, Third man charged with First-Degree Murder

On Friday February 22, 2008, at 9:40 p.m., police received a call for a shooting on Golfhaven Drive.

On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, Ron Joseph Williams, 26, of St Lucia, was extradited to Toronto and charged with:

1. First-Degree Murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, 2 p.m.

Jang Soon Park, 79, was last seen on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at approximately 11 a.m., at the Downsview TTC station.

She is described as Asian, 5'9", 95 lbs., with collar-length black hair. She was last seen wearing black shoes, black pants and a light blue winter coat with no hood. She was carrying a white shopping bag containing food.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Fatal collision #54/2013, Yukon Lane at Sheppard Avenue West, Driver charged, Police seek witnesses

On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at 9:37 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Yukon Lane and Sheppard Avenue West.

It is alleged that:

− a 20-year-old man was driving a 1992 BMW 325, westbound on Sheppard Avenue West, approaching Yukon Lane

- a 24-year-old man was attempting to cross Sheppard Avenue West, from the north side to the south side, on the west side of the intersection, on a bicycle

- the cyclist was struck by the BMW, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene

- the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Traffic Services for investigation

The driver has been charged with:

1. Dangerous driving causing death
2. Criminal negligence causing death

The driver has been identified as Aleksey Aleksev, 20, of Toronto. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, November 21, 2013, Toronto North Courts, 1000 Finch Avenue West, court room 301 at 10 a.m.

Police are also requesting that the six people who assisted the cyclist at the scene contact police.

Man arrested in connection with sexual assault investigation, Muhammed Qureshi, 64, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, September 23, 2013, a woman attended Opticon Optical, 1165 St. Clair Avenue West, for an eye examination

- a man fraudulently identified himself as a certified optometrist and performed the exam

- during the exam, he sexually assaulted her

On Wednesday, November 20, 2013, Muhammed Qureshi, 64, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Sexual assault
2) Fraud - under ($5,000)
3) Personation with intent
4) Forgery
5) Uttering forged document

Police believe there may be more victims.

Piano teacher charged in sexual assault investigation, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- between 2006 and 2013, a number of young girls were sexually assaulted by the accused as he was giving piano lessons

- the lessons took place in the accused's basement in the Church Avenue/Yonge Street area

On Friday, October 11, 2013, Lap-Wah Ng, 69, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Sexual Interference

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

On Thursday, November 21, 2013, a search warrant was executed at the accused's home.

It is further alleged that:

- two computer systems were seized

Police believe there may be other victims.

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- between Friday, November 15, 2013, and Sunday, November 17, 2013, a man visited Seneca College, Newham Campus, at 1760 Finch Avenue East

- in the early hours of Saturday, November 16, 2013, he introduced himself to a woman

- the two had a brief conversation, then he sexually assaulted her

- in the early hours of Sunday, November 17, 2013, he introduced himself to a different woman

- after a brief conversation, he sexually assaulted the second woman

Ahmed Khan, 20, of Toronto, was arrested and has been charged with:

1. two counts of Forcible Confinement
2. two counts of Sexual Assault
3. assault

His next court appearance was scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 10 a.m., room 306, at 1000 Finch Avenue West.

Police believe that there may be more victims.

On Tuesday, November 19, 2013, between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., a quantity of Clonazepam was stolen from 777 Bay Street.

Members of the public are advised that these drugs, in this quantity, can pose a serious health risk.
