The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Catherine Jackson, 43, was last seen on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

She is described as 5'5", 205 lbs., short brown hair with blond highlights. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, black jacket, blue jeans and blue runners.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Members of the media are invited to attend the Toronto Police Service Auxiliary Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 6 p.m., at the Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street.

A total of 70 new Auxiliary Officers from our diverse communities will be graduating and joining the ranks of over 350 officers in communities throughout Toronto.

Following the ceremony, there will be an opportunity for the media to meet and speak with the Auxiliary members.

The Toronto Police Service Auxiliary program is one of several volunteer programs within the Toronto Police Service. Members participate in a number of assignments ranging from crime prevention outreach, parades and special events, to canvassing for missing persons.

Homicide #2/2018, 58 Waterton Road, Shaquille Wallace, 22, Update, Security camera images of suspect vehicle released

On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 8:17 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting at 58 Waterton Road.
It is reported that:

- officers arrived on scene and located a man in a laneway with apparent gunshot wounds

- he was immediately taken to hospital, via emergency run, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced

He has been identified as Shaquille Wallace, 22, of Toronto.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
Homicide investigators are interested in identifying this vehicle as well as anyone in possession or associated to this vehicle. Investigators believe that the vehicle is a 2001-2007 Mercedes C230, C240 or C320 that is black, blue or green in colour.

Security camera images of the suspect vehicle are released.

Police request assistance with Suspicious Fire investigation, 74 Ashdale Avenue

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance in a suspicious fire investigation.

On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a call for a fire at 72 Ashdale Avenue.

It is reported that:

- the building had been boarded up and was unoccupied

- a fire started from an unknown source

- neighboring homes were evacuated due to the large fire

- the Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who has security camera images or video in the area.

Members of the media are invited to attend the Toronto Police Service Auxiliary graduation ceremony on Thursday, April 5, 2018, 7 p.m., at the Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street.

Auxiliary recruits, 71 in total, will be graduating and joining the ranks with over 350 current Auxiliary members.

Following the ceremony, there will be an opportunity for the media to meet and speak with the Auxiliary members.

The Toronto Police Service Auxiliary Program is one of several volunteer programs within the Toronto Police Service. Members participate in details ranging from crime prevention, community partnership initiatives and events, and provide support to Detective Operations.

Public Safety Alert, Sexual Assault Investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a ongoing sexual assault investigation.

It is reported:

- on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 8:15 p.m., a 28 year-old woman was walking in the area of Close Avenue and King Street

- a man approached the woman from behind

- the man then sexually assaulted the woman

- the man held onto the woman

- the woman fought back to defend herself and the man released his hold, and fled the area towards Jameson Avenue

The man is described as white, 5'8", and a medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt and dark-coloured pants.

Public Safety Alert, Springhurst Avenue and Spencer Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a man loitering outside during the evening hours in the Springhurst Avenue and Spencer Avenue area.


It is reported that:

- on Thursday, March 8, 2018, a man was loitering outside

- he followed a 30-year-old woman to her home, she entered her home

- he later followed her inside

- she confronted him inside her home, and he then asked for directions

- she told him to leave, and he left


It is further reported that:

- on Friday, March 9, 2018, the same man was loitering outside

- he followed a 31-year-old woman into her apartment building and towards her apartment

- he asked her for water, and he left when he was not given the water


The man is described as brown, 5'7", thin build, black short hair, brown eyes and clean shaven.

Public Safety Alert, Canada Revenue Agency/Bitcoin Scam

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an ongoing fraudulent Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) fraud involving Bitcoin.

It is reported that:

- People, who pose as CRA agents, use emails, phone calls and even text messages to get money and personal information from the victims

- often times the suspects make the phone calls seem urgent, and use aggressive language or threats of arrested to scare potential victims into making payments to them

- the victims are instructed to deposit money into Bitcoin Automated Teller Machines

The CRA does not accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. It is also important to know that the legitimate government agencies will never send payment notices or ask for personal information through e-mail, texts or phone calls.

Missing man, Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive area, Nadarajah Mahenbrarajah, 50

Nadarajah Mahenbrarajah, 50, was last seen on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at 4:00 p.m., Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive area.

He is described as a 5’4”, with a small build, short, balding black/grey hair, and a short beard. He was last seen wearing jeans, and a black jacket.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Fatal collision #18/2018 Wilson Avenue, west of Julian Road

On Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 12:21 p.m., police received a call for a personal injury collision at Wilson Avenue, west of Julian Road.

It is reported that:

- a man, 54, was driving a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter van westbound on Wilson Avenue, west of Julian Road

- a man, 76, was attempting to cross Wilson Avenue, west of Julian Road

- the man was struck by the vehicle as he attempted to cross the road

The 76-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Saturday, March 31, 2018, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

On Friday, April 6, 2018, at 10:30 a.m, at the SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, 16586 Woodbine Avenue, Whitchurch-Stouffville, the Toronto Police Service will adopt a dog.

Jasmine is an approximately one-year-old Dutch Shepherd-mix, who will begin Toronto Police canine training in the coming months.

Members of the media are invited to attend.

TPS Police Dog Services Sergeant Scott Fowlds and Ontario SPCA Director of Shelter Health & Wellness Dave Wilson will be available for interviews and photos.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a missing man.

Warren Ruddock, 43, was last seen on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 3:30PM in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area

He is described as 5’8”, 225lbs., black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a New Balance grey jacket, blue sweater and navy blue shorts. He presently does not have a beard.

Police are concerned for his safety. If located do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately.

Thee men facing a total 35 charges in two robbery investigations

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest and charges laid for two robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., two men were driven to a convenience store in the Willowdale Avenue south of Finch Avenue East area
- two men wore masks and entered the store armed with a rifle
- the men demanded cash and cigarettes
- a 46-year-old man also had his wallet and cellular phone stolen
- the men left in a vehicle

It is further alleged that:

- on Friday, March 30, 2018, at 10:40 p.m., two people were in the parking lot of a bank in the Sheppard Avenue East and Willowdale Avenue area to make a cash deposit
- two masked men drove into the lot and approached a male victim as he was walking back to his vehicle
- the men pointed an assault rifle at him and made a demand for cash and valuables, which they obtained
- the men then approached a 29-year-old woman and demanded her jacket and cell phone
- the male victim then began running away from the armed men
- one of the men fired approximately seven rounds from a rifle at the male victim who was not struck by any of the bullets
- the two men fled the area

It is further alleged that:

- a SKS rifle was recovered during the investigation


On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, the Hold Up Squad arrested Sean Fraser, 20, and Jordon Coulson, 25, at their residence.

Sean Fraser, 20, from North York, was charged with:

1. Three counts of Robbery while armed with a firearm
2. Disguise with intent
3. Discharge firearm endanger life
4. Unauthorized possession of a firearm
5. Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
6. Careless storage of a firearm
7. Possession of a firearm knowing serial number altered
8. Possession of a prohibited device
9. Possession of property obtained by crime
10. Three counts of Fail to comply recognizance
11. Three counts of Fail to comply probation
12. Possession of cocaine

Jordon Coulson, 25, of North York, was charged with:

1. Unauthorized possession of a firearm
2. Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
3. Careless storage of a firearm
4. Possession of a serial number altered
5. Possession of a prohibited device
6. Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
7. Possession of a firearm contrary to Prohibition order

On Thursday, April 5, 2018, Vicky Isook, 33, of North York, was arrested and charged:

1. Three counts of Robbery while armed with a firearm
2. Disguise with intent
3. Discharge firearm endanger
4. Three counts of Fail to comply with recognizance
5. Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order
6. Possession of property obtained by crime

All three men attended court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Friday, April 6, 2018, 10 a.m., courtroom 206.

King Street Transit Pilot Update

On Sunday, November 12, 2017, the King Street Transit Pilot was launched. Over the past week there have been multiple requests for enforcement data related to the King Street Transit Pilot.

To date, approximately 4,600 provincial offence notices have been issued by officers.

The top infractions were:

Proceed contrary to sign at intersection – 3,163
Other offences - 1,061
Disobey sign - 395

Toronto Police Service enforcement efforts will be on-going.
