On Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., in the media gallery at police headquarters, Detective Constable Alexandra Marks, of the Sex Crimes Child Exploitation Section, will update the media on additional charges laid in a Child Exploitation investigation.

The news conference will be available on Bell TOC and will be live-streamed.


Please note that, for the safety of employees and visitors, all persons entering Toronto Police Service Headquarters must go through security screening. You are not required to submit to screening. You may leave at any time, but, if you do not consent to this screening, you will be denied entry. Thank you for your cooperation.

March is Fraud Prevention Month. The philosophy is for Canadians to recognize, reject and report Fraud, and reduce Fraud by increasing fraud awareness. Fraud Prevention Month is spearheaded by the Competition Bureau of Canada. #fraudchat is running a four-week series during Fraud Prevention Month with our special guest Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Week 1: Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Tax Scams

On Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 8 p.m., we will be joined by our special guests at the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre to answer questions regarding tax scams. Members of the public can follow The Canada Revenue Agency and the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre using the hashtags @canantifraud and @CanRevAgency on Twitter.

To follow #fraudchat, members of the public simply need to log on to Twitter from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. EST and follow the #fraudchat hashtag. An application such as Tweetdeck, which allows users to separately view tweets containing this hashtag, is also helpful in following the chat.

#fraudchat is an online Twitter program that seeks to educate and exchange ideas with the public about financial crimes and fraud. The moderators for this program are Gail Regan (@ReganFCU), and Diane Kelly (@DKellyFCU) of TPS Financial Crimes, along with Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (@Canantifraud).

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance locating a wanted man.

Mohamed Mohamed, 37, of Toronto, is wanted for:

1) Unlawfully in a Dwelling
2) Assault with a Weapon
3) Assault Causing Bodily Harm
4) Weapons Dangerous
5) Utter Threats
6) 11 counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He was last seen on Tuesday, March 5, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., in the Markham Road and Ellesmere Road area. He is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, contact police immediately.

Wanted person, Mohamed Mohamed, 37, Update, Man surrenders to police, Faces 16 charges

On Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 8:04 a.m., the Toronto Police Service announced it was looking for a wanted man

On Thursday, March, 8, 2018, at 8:14 a.m., Mohamed Mohamed, 37, of Toronto, surrendered to police at 43 Division.

He is charged with:

1) Unlawfully in a Dwelling
2) Assault with a Weapon
3) Assault Causing Bodily Harm
4) Weapons Dangerous
5) Utter Threats
6) 11 counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Child Sexual Assault investigation, Terrence Noftall, 55, Faces nine more charges, more victims come forward

On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- in 2012, a man was working at Toronto Western Hospital where he met a woman

- the man befriended the woman's child

It is further alleged that:

- the man showed the child pornography

- the man sexually assaulted the child

- the man had inappropriate communications with the child

Terrence Noftall, 55, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

1) Invitation to Sexual Touching
2) Sexual Interference
3) Sexual Assault
4) Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child
5) Luring a Child Under 18
6) Attempt Make Child Pornography
7) Make Child Pornography
8) Breach of Prohibition Order (C.C. Section 161)


The investigation continued and more victims have come forward.

It is further alleged that:

- between 2000 and 2005, he sexually assaulted a child

- between 2005 and 2009, he befriended another child while vacationing at the Bee Happy Campground in Innisfill, Ontario

- he sexually assaulted the child

As a result, on Thursday, February 8, 2018 and Saturday, March 5, 2018, Terrence Noftall was charged with:

1) three counts of sexual interference
2) three counts of sexual assault

It is further alleged that:

- between 2016 and 2017, he used social media accounts to communicate with children

- he used Facebook under the name Terrence Lee Noftall

- he used Instagram under the username tnoftall, with a vanity name of Terrence N

- he accessed online child sexual abuse material

As a result, on Thursday, February 8, 2018, he was also charged with:

1) two counts of Breach of Prohibition Order (Criminal Code Section 161)
2) accessing Child Pornography

Terrence Noftall appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 10 a.m., room 301.

Police are concerned there may be other victims and are asking anyone who may have any information to call investigators at 416-808-8500.

Police request assistance identifying man wanted in Aggravated Assault investigation, TTC streetcar, Spadina Avenue and Richmond Street, Security camera images of man released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a man wanted in an Aggravated Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 5:10 p.m., a man boarded a TTC streetcar at the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Richmond Street West.

- a few moments later, he became involved in a dispute with an unknown male passenger on the streetcar

- the altercation quickly escalated, and resulted in the man being stabbed in the back by the unknown male suspect

- the suspect immediately fled the streetcar and was last seen running southbound on Spadina Avenue

Security camera images of the suspect are attached.

On Friday, March 2, 2018, at 3 p.m., he was located and arrested by police. He was charged with:

1) ten counts Break-and-Enter & Commit
2) seven counts FTC With Recognizance
3) eight counts FTC With Probation Order
4) three counts Theft Under $5000
5) Assault With Intent To Resist Arrest
6) four counts Mischief Under $5000
7) three counts Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000
8) two counts Fail To Attend Court

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10 a.m., room 101.

Kamal Razzak, 16, was last seen on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in the Queen Street West and Jameson Avenue area.

He is described as 5’9", thin build, 140 lbs., short dark-brown hair, brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a burgundy zip-up hoodie, grey trackpants, grey running shoes with red stripe.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Kim Delva, 16, was last seen on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at 1:50 p.m., in the Kingston Road and Galloway Road area.

He is described as 5’10", medium build, short black hair, brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light-grey hooded sweatshirt, dark-grey jogging pants, white running shoes.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing woman.

Ghulam Iftakhar, 27, was last seen on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 9:05 p.m., in the Overlea Boulevard and Thorncliffe Park Drive area.

She is described as 5’3”, with a thin build, and long black hair. She was last seen wearing a dark-blue hooded rain jacket, black pants, a black long-sleeved zip-up shirt, a white Koodo t-shirt, and white-and-black Adidas All-Star shoes. She was carrying a small blue Tommy Hilfiger bag.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Five men arrested in firearm investigation, Park Lawn Road and QEW area, Loaded semi-automatic handgun recovered

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of multiple arrests in a firearm investigation.

Officers from the Area Field Command Investigative Support Unit executed a search warrant on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, in the Park Lawn Road and QEWarea.

Five men were arrested and it's alleged that a loaded Sig Sauer 9mm handgun was recovered.

Majid Osman, 27, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
2. Possess Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm


Abdilhaq Abukar, 22, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
2. Possess Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm
5. Fail to Comply with Recognizance


Shane Miller, 28, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
2. Possess Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm


Ahmed Siyad, 25, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
2. Possess Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm
5. Possess Firearm While Prohibited
6. Breach of Probation


Ilyas Warsame, 25, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
2. Possess Restricted Firearm Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly Without Holding a License and Registration Certificate
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm


The five men were scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday March 7, 2018.

Man arrested for Bank Robberies, Michael Joseph Brown, 30

Toronto Police Service Hold Up Investigators would like to make the public aware of an arrest of a man involved in two bank robberies at the same branch located in the area of Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, March 2, 2018, a barefaced man entered the branch and approached a 62-year-old customer using the automatic teller machine

- a man attempted to remove the money that the customer had just withdrawn and a struggle ensued

- the man was not successful during this attempt and approached a teller at the counter

- the man made a verbal demand for money and threatened to shoot the teller, if she did not comply

- the man obtained a quantity of cash and fled


It is further alleged that:

- on Thursday, March 8, 2018, a man entered the same bank branch wearing sunglasses and a scarf in order to conceal his identity

- the man approached the bank manager and made a verbal demand for money

- the man obtained a quantity of money and fled

On Thursday, March 8, 2018, Michael Joseph Brown, 30 of Toronto was arrested. He is charged with:

1. three counts of Robbery
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10 a.m., room 204

Man arrested in Child Luring investigation, Donson Redhead, 25

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in a Child Luring investigation.

On Monday, March 5, 2018, officers began an investigation involving allegations of Child Luring on Snapchat.

It is alleged that:

- in June 2017, a man befriended a 13-year-old girl on Snapchat

- they communicated for a few months

- they met in October 2017, where the man took the girl to his home

- he sexually assaulted her

On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, Donson Redhead, 24, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Luring a Child
2) Sexual Interference
3) Sexual Assault

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 10 a.m., in room 204.

He used the name "Peso" in his communications.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Media Advisory, March Break is about families

While children and families will be celebrating the arrival of March Break, the Toronto Police Service would like to remind drivers to slow down and eliminate distractions.

The need to be aware and alert at all times on any road, and even in the most routine circumstances, is a key component to moving through traffic safely. This advice applies to pedestrians, drivers and cyclists. We ask all road users to take extra care, especially in areas popular with children and seniors.
