Santa Claus Parade, Sunday, November 19, 2017, 12:30 p.m., Road closures

The 113th annual Santa Claus Parade will take place on Sunday November 19, 2017, at 12:30 p.m.

Road closure times are as follows:

- Bloor Street West, from Ossington Avenue to Christie Street, at 8 a.m.
- Bloor Street West, from Christie Street to Bathurst Street, at 10 a.m.
- Bloor Street West, from Bathurst Street to Bay Street, at 10:45 a.m.
- Avenue Road/Queen’s Park, from Davenport Road to College Street, at 10:45 a.m.
- University Avenue, from College Street to Dundas Street, at 11 a.m.
- University Avenue, from Dundas Street to Front Street, at 11:15 a.m.
- Wellington Street, from University Avenue to Jarvis Street, at 11:30 a.m.
- Front Street, from Bay Street to Jarvis Street, at 11:45 a.m.
- Front Street, from Jarvis Street to Sherbourne Street, at 11 a.m.

Vehicles parked along the parade route will be relocated to neighbouring streets starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017. To locate your vehicle, please call 416-808-6600.

At 11:45 a.m., the "Holly Jolly 5km Fun Run" will take place along the parade route. For the safety of runners and parade attendees, spectators are asked to ensure that children and all personal belongings are off the roadway by 11:30 a.m.

The parade will start at 12:30 p.m., and will proceed along the following route:

- start: Bloor Street West and Christie Street
- eastbound on Bloor Street West
- southbound on Queen's Park Crescent East
- southbound on University Avenue
- eastbound on Wellington Street West
- southbound on Yonge Street
- eastbound on Front Street East
- finish: Front Street East and Jarvis Street

Motorists travelling in the area can expect significant delays and should try to avoid the parade route.

Spectators attending the parade are advised to use public transportation. The TTC will be providing full subway and streetcar service.

The duration of the parade is approximately 2.5 hours, and will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Missing man, Leslie Street and Lawrence Avenue East area, Mikhael Rofael, 26

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Mikhael Rofael, 26, was last seen on Thursday, November 16, 2017, in the evening hours, in the Leslie Street and Lawrence Avenue East area.

He is described as 5’7”, 300 lbs., heavy build, with short brown hair and brown eyes. There is no clothing description at this time.

He is believed to be in the downtown Toronto area and may be operating a U-Haul truck.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Missing man, Weston Road and Black Creek Drive area, Anthony Weidendorf, 20

The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Anthony Weidendorf, 20, was last seen on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 8 a.m., in the Weston Road and Black Creek Drive area.

He is described as 5’7", medium build, with short brown hair and green-grey eyes. He has numerous tattoos including "416" with a crown on his left hand, “Life’s a gamble" on his left arm, “Only time will tell” with a compass on his back and "Stay Real" across his knuckles. He was last seen wearing black shoes and a black thermal jacket with the word "Terra" on the left chest.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Public Safety Alert, Fraud/Extortion Scam

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a fraudulent scheme with person(s) posing as representatives from "Canada Immigration".

It is reported that:

-an unknown individual posing as representative from "Canada Immigration" communicated with a victim by phone

- the unknown individual advised the victim that there was a warrant for his arrest

- a demand was then made for a payment in the form of Bitcoin, in order for the alleged warrant to not be executed

- when the victim did not adhere to the demands, he received a second call from an unknown individual identifying himself as a member of the Toronto Police Service, advising that there was in fact a warrant for the victim's arrest

- the victim called police and reported the incident

The Toronto Police would like to advise that calls of this nature are fraudulent and not actually from the police. Legitimate government agencies do not request debts to be paid by Bitcoin or pre-paid credit cards or gift cards.

Man wanted for Breach of Parole Noor Osman-Noor, 37, Photo released

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) squad is requesting the public’s assistance locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada- wide warrant as a result of his breach of parole.

Noor Osman-Noor, 37, is described as 5’11”, 154 lbs., with a shaved head, brown eyes, and a goatee. He is heavily covered with tattoos along both his arms, including images of a robot and the devil.

He is serving a three-year sentence for robbery and fail to comply with a probation order.

The offender is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area.

Police request assistance with Personal Injury Collision #55/2017 and #56/2017, Finch Avenue East, at Ravel Road

On Thursday, November 16, 2017, at 11:20 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Finch Avenue East, at Ravel Road.

It is reported that:

- a woman, 81, and a man, 81, were attempting to cross Finch Avenue East, at Ravel Road, mid-block

- a woman, 70, was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, westbound on Finch Avenue East approaching Ravel Road

- as the pedestrians attempted to cross the road, they were struck by the vehicle

Both pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.

Theft Under $5000 and Assault investigation, Victoria Park Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area

The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public in regards to an ongoing theft under $5000 and assault investigation.

On Monday, November 13, 2017, at approximately 3:50 p.m., police received a call for a theft and assault in the Victoria Park Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area area.

It is reported that:

- a man entered a store inquiring about purchasing a Nintendo Switch gaming console

- while speaking to the cashier, he attempted to take the console and run out of the store

- the cashier attempted to stop the man and he punched her, knocking her to the ground

- he was seen running in the parking lot possibly towards the bus stop

He is described as 25-35 years old, 6', with a skinny build, wearing a black jacket with a poppy, black pants, black Adidas shoes and a black toque.

Update in child luring investigation, Arrest, Mikail Moolla, 32

The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on an arrest made in a Sex Crimes investigation.

It is alleged that;

- on Friday, November 17, 2017 as part of an investigation into luring of a child under sixteen years of age, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section arrested Mikail Moolla in the area of Lakeshore Boulevard West and Marine Parade Drive , Toronto.

- It is alleged that he posted an ad on a classified advertisement website looking to have sexual relations with young girls. He used the email address “mikailusmaximus@gmail.com.”

A subsequent Criminal Code Search warrant was executed.

Mikail Moolla, 32, of Toronto has been charged with:

1. Make available sexually explicit material to person under 16 years
2. Luring a Child (Under 16)
3. Attempt Sexual Interference

He was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, courtroom 206, on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Public assistance sought in sexual assault investigation, Dovercourt Road and Queen Street West area, Video released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public to identify the suspect of a violent sexual assault.

It is reported that:

- in the early morning hours of Friday, August 25, 2017, a woman, 37, was walking in the area of Queen Street West and Dovercourt Road .

- a man approached the woman and a struggle began and the man sexually assaulted her

- he fled the area

He is described as white, short dark hair with a receding hairline and bald spot, approximately 5’6” to 5’8”. A video of the suspect taken from security camera footage is attached.

Missing Boy Located, Birchmount Road and McNicoll Avenue area, Norberto Leite, 13

Arrests made in multiple Street Robberies, Occurring in the Beaches Area of Toronto, 4 boys, facing multiple charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of multiple robbery arrests that have occurred in the Beaches area of Toronto.

It is alleged:

- men wearing disguises approached their victims

- the men would then steal their property at knife-point

On Friday, November 10, 2017, a 15-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2) two counts of Robbery
3) Possession of a Weapon
4) two counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
5) Disguise with Intent
6) two counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He was scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., in room 1.


On Friday, November 10, 2017, two 16-year-old boys were arrested. They have been charged with:

1) Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2) two counts of Robbery
3) Possession of a Weapon
4) two counts of Carry Concealed Weapon

They were scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., in room 1.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, a criminal code search warrant was executed in the Pine Crescent and Glen Manor area. A 16-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2) Robbery
3) Possession of a Weapon
4) Carry Concealed Weapon
5) Disguise with Intent
6) Possession of property obtained by crime.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis, on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 10 a.m.

All the boys cannot be identified due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Please refer to Section 110, Subsection 1, of the YCJA:

110. (1) Subject to this section, no person shall publish the name of a young person, or any other information related to a young person, if it would identify the young person as a young person dealt with under this Act.*

Public Safety Alert, Man wanted in Assault with a Weapon investigation, Northbound Spadina line

The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance, and would like to issue a caution, regarding a man wanted for assaulting two passengers travelling on the Spadina line using the TTC.

On Friday, November 17, 2017, at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a call for an Assault at Spadina Subway station.

It is reported that:

- two passengers were on board a northbound Spadina line subway train

- they were approached by an unknown man

- he assaulted them by spraying them with an unknown substance

One of the passengers suffered redness and irritation to the eyes. This passenger was transported to an area hospital and treated for the exposure.

The suspect is described as 6’0”, wearing a black leather jacket, grey hoodie, black pants, dark shoes with white laces. He was carrying a small spray bottle.

If he is located, do not approach, call 911 immediately. He is considered violent and dangerous.

Maria Anagnostopoulou, 17, was last seen on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 7:15 p.m., in the Pape Avenue and Browning Avenue area.

She is described as white, 5’5”, medium build, with long brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink sweater, ripped blue jeans and white 'Adidas' shoes.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Two men wanted in Theft investigation, Eaton Chelsea hotel

Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating two men wanted in a Theft investigation.

On Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 10:40 p.m., officers responded to a call for a theft at the Eaton Chelsea hotel.

It is reported that:

- a 34-year-old man was sitting at the bar in the hotel

- his bag was stolen containing a cell phone and personal items

Investigation has revealed two men believed to be responsible for the thefts.

The first suspect is described as having short black hair, wearing a white/grey sweater, light blue jeans and black shoes.

The second suspect is described as having short black hair, wearing a black jacket, dark pants and black shoes.

Security camera images of the suspects are released.

The same two suspects are believed to be responsible for thefts in another occurrence.
