Investigation into Attempt Murder and Endangering the Life of a Child Under 5, Pape Avenue and Withrow Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance with an Attempt Murder and Endangering the Life of a Child Under 5 investigation in the Pape Avenue and Withrow Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 8:55 p.m., a man, 20, was parked on Pape Avenue when an unknown man approached the driver’s-side window

- the unknown man began shooting into the vehicle

- numerous shots were fired into the man's car, some striking him and others narrowly missing a child under the age of five also in the vehicle

The man is described as possible teenager, black, dark complexion, 5'5"-5'6", thin build, skinny face, clean-shaven, pointy chin, small thin lips. He was wearing dark pants, black bubble vest or jacket, red straight-brimmed hat with hood over hat and possibly white shoes. The man was last seen in a silver SUV with tinted windows, southbound on Pape Avenue from Withrow Avenue.

Police are asking businesses in 55 Division, specifically businesses in the area of Greenwood Avenue to the east, Broadview Avenue to the west, Gerrard Street East to the south and Danforth Avenue to the north, to check their security systems between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017, to see if their systems captured any evidence.

Two men sought in Uttering Threats and Public Mischief investigation, TTC bus on Finch Avenue West, near Ancona Street, Security camera images of men released

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance identifying two men wanted in an Uttering Threats and Public Mischief investigation.

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 12:18 p.m, officers responded to a call for assistance from a TTC bus on Finch Avenue West, near Ancona Street.

It is reported that:

- two men boarded a TTC bus

- an altercation ensued

- both men became argumentative with the vehicle operator

- the operator was threatened and the men interfered with TTC property

The men are described as:

Suspect #1: late teens to early 20s, 5’8, 160 lbs., hair in a ponytail, white-and-dark-coloured jacket, light-blue jeans, black backpack.

Suspect #2: late teens to early 20s, 6’, 180 lbs., gold-rimmed glasses, dark-coloured jacket, black hoodie with flamingo design on front, light-coloured satchel on hip

Security camera images of the men have been released.

Public Safety Alert, Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area, Street robberies

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a series of street robberies on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, between 6:30 a.m. and 7:55 a.m., in the Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- four separate incidents have been reported to police

- in each incident, a firearm was displayed and pointed at the victims

- various items including cash, debit/credit cards, and cell phones were taken from the victims

The descriptions for the suspect, so far, vary: man, 20-30, 5'10" to 6'1", dark skin, olive complexion, wearing dark-coloured sweater or vest, dark-coloured pants, head covered, face exposed.

He should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance identifying a man wanted in a Theft investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 9:30 p.m., a man reported that his laptop, in a backpack, was stolen from a restaurant in the Adelaide Street West and Duncan Street area.

The suspect is described as olive skin, heavy set, short dark hair, dark full beard, wearing glasses, polo shirt, shorts.

A security camera image is released.

Emilie Pointon, 17, was last seen on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 1:50 p.m., in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

She is described as 5’5”, fair complexion, thin build, long straight black hair, brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Fatal collision #51/2017, Keele Street at Steeles Avenue West

On Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 10:23 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Keele Street and Steeles Avenue West.

It is reported that:

- a boy, 17, was driving a Mercedes Benz westbound on Steeles Avenue West, approaching Keele Street

- a man, 55, was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on Steeles Avenue West, attempting to make a left turn to northbound Keele Street

- the vehicles collided in the intersection

A woman, 49, a passenger in the Toyota, received life-threatening injuries and was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Davarie Bailey, 14, was last seen on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 1 p.m., in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area.

He is described as 5'7", slim build, last seen wearing a black hooded Puma sweatshirt, black Adidas pants with stripes along the sides, black balaclava.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Man, 37, charged in Public Mischief investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in a Public Mischief investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, October 12, 2017, a man attended 33 Division to report the theft of $7,000 cash

- he claimed he was stopped for driving with an expired licence plate sticker by uniformed police officers driving a marked police car with flashing lights

- he claimed he was ordered to exit his vehicle

- when he complied, one of the officers searched his vehicle

. when the man returned to his vehicle, $7,000 cash was missing

The TPS began an intensive investigation.

It is further alleged that:

- with the co-operation and assistance of the public, evidence came to light that led to the conclusion that the traffic stop had never occurred, nor had there been any contact with police officers

On Sunday, October 29, 2017, Mark Dean Burrell, 37, of Mississauga, was charged with:

1) Public Mischief

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Friday, December 8, 2017.

Homicide #21/2016, 260 Carlaw Avenue, Ceyon Carrington, 29, Update, Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim, now 23, wanted on Canada Wide Warrant for First-Degree Murder

On Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 9:51 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at 260 Carlaw Avenue.

It is reported that:

- officers arrived to find a man with apparent gunshot wounds

- emergency medical care was being administered by passersby

- he was rushed to hospital

- he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced

- a man was seen fleeing the scene in a car

The victim has now been identified as Ceyon Carrington, 29, of Toronto.

Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim, now 23, of Toronto, is wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for:

1) First-Degree Murder

He is considered violent. If he is seen, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Police seek assistance locating two women wanted in Robbery investigation, Security camera images of the two women released

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance locating two women wanted in a Robbery investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Monday, October 10, 2017, at approximately 11:23 a.m., a woman, 31, met two other women in the Sheppard Avenue East and Greenbriar Road area, who were interested in purchasing Kim Kardashian-style wigs

- they all met, a disagreement occurred regarding the price of the wigs, and the two women left the apartment of the 31-year-old woman

It is further alleged that:

- a phone call was made and the two women returned to the apartment

- at approximately 12 p.m., once back in the apartment, a physical altercation occurred as the two women attempted to grab the wig

- the two women managed to steal the wig and were last seen on foot entering a light-coloured BMW sedan

The first woman, identified as "Latoya," described as 18-24, long curly black hair, was wearing a black sweater, blue jeans, black glasses.

The second woman is described as 18-24, wearing a black v-neck shirt, black pants, black sandals, head covering.

Security camera images of the two women have been released.

Man and woman, both 20, face charges in bank robbery investigation

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of the arrests of a man and woman, both 20, in an investigation into two bank robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 12:25 p.m., a man entered a bank branch in the Albion Road and Islington Avenue area, wearing dark sunglasses, a hooded jacket and gloves

- he gave the bank employee a hold-up note demanding money

- he fled with a quantity of money

It is further alleged that:

- on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at 13:52 p.m., a woman used the ATM to scout the branch in the Royal York Road and Eglinton Avenue West area

- approximately 15 minutes later, a man wearing dark sunglasses, a toque, a scarf wrapped around his lower face and gloves, entered the branch

- he approached the teller, produced a hold-up note demanding money

- he fled with a quantity of money

Responding officers received information regarding the suspects’ location.

The man and woman, with a two-month-old baby, were located on a nearby TTC bus.

David Baboochan, 20, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery
2) two counts of Disguise with Intent
3) two counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance


Jamilla James, 20, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) Robbery

They both appeared in court at College Park on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 10 a.m., room 507.

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Gregory Frank Goodridge, 54, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Public Mischief

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, November 2, 2017, 10 a.m., room 101.
