Public assistance sought with Shooting investigation, Danforth Avenue and Woodbine Avenue, Security camera image of suspect released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in a shooting investigation.

On Wednesday, July 23, 2015, at approximately 8 p.m., police received a call for a shooting in the Danforth Avenue/Woodbine Avenue area.

Once once scene, police found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is reported that:

- a man was seen fleeing the area in a 2006-2008 dark-blue 3 Series BMW with tinted windows

The man is described as black with a light complexion.

A security camera image of the suspect is available.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Joerg Possiel, 56, was last seen on Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

He is described as 5'9", 190 lbs., medium build, green eyes, black hair and a grey beard.

Police are concerned for his safety. He is considered a danger to himself and others. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing man.

Chris Kavanakudy Mathew, 34, was last seen on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in the King Street West and Strachan Avenue area.

He is described as 5'7", 150 lbs., medium build, with short black hair with a receding hairline. He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt with a “CAMBRIDGE ATHLETICS” logo on the chest, khaki shorts, black/grey spring jacket with long sleeves, and dark-blue deck shoes.

He may be driving a grey four-door 2011 Volkswagen Jetta.

Police have concerns for his safety.

Personal injury collision #35/2015, Huntingwood Drive at Bridlewood Road

On Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 8:10 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Huntingwood Drive at Bridlewood Road.

It is reported that:

− a 23-year-old man was driving a 2013 Ducati motorcycle, westbound on Huntingwood Drive, approaching Bridlewood Boulevard

− a 49-year-old man was driving a 2014 BMW, eastbound on Huntingwood Drive, attempting to make a left turn to southbound Bridlewood Road

− the motorcycle and car collided in the intersection

The 23-year-old man received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police request assistance with commercial Break-and-Enter investigations, Bloor Street West, between South Kingsway and Dufferin Street, Security camera images of wanted man released

The Toronto Police Service is seeking the public's assistance identifying a man involved in a series of commercial Break-and-Enters on Bloor Street West, between South Kingsway and Dufferin Street.

The most recent Break-and-Enter occurred in the Bloor Street West and Dufferin Street area on Thursday, July 16, 2015.

It is reported that:

- between November 2013 and July 2015, at night, an unknown man entered four liquor licensed establishments along Bloor Street West, between the South Kingsway and Dufferin Street

- the man stole a quantity of liquor

He is described as 45-50, average height, thin build, usually unshaven and wearing glasses with black arms.

Security camera images of the man have been released.

Arrest in Mischief to Property and Utter Threats investigation, Man faces two charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest in an Uttering Threats investigation in the Sheppard Avenue East and Meadowvale Road area.

It is alleged that:

- on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, a man broke the door to the house of a 33-year-old woman

- the man threatened to cause physical harm to the woman

On Friday, July 24, 2015, at 3:10 a.m., Marius Robert Guenette, 25, of Toronto, surrendered to police. He was arrested and charged with:

1) Mischief to Property Under $5000
2) Uttering Threats.

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 10 a.m., room 412.

Missing man, Austin Frank, 88

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing man.

Austin Frank, 88, was last seen on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 10:30 p.m., in the Victoria Park Avenue and Crescent Town Road area.

He is described as 5'5", 180 lbs., balding, grey hair, three weeks' growth of greying beard and moustache, brown eyes and a gold tooth on the left side of his mouth. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a blue/burgundy/grey horizontally striped shirt, black shoes, a grey suede hat with fur trim and a copper bracelet on his left wrist. He is believed to be carrying a large, white, plastic shopping bag.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Snow Easy Plowing co-owners arrested in Fraud investigation, Two men facing total of 68 charges

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to two arrests in a Fraud investigation. Multiple complaints from the public were received by those who had been allegedly defrauded out of their money for services that were never delivered.

It is alleged that:

- during November and December 2014, Snow Easy Plowing advertised on promotional sites, such as Living Social and Groupon, snow-removal services at a deeply discounted rate

- many people signed up for the service

- following the first big snowfall in December, customers did not receive the service they paid for

- no one showed up to do their walkways and driveways

- customers continued to contact Snow Easy for service, and eventually got through to a voicemail, indicating the company had gone out of business

On Friday, July 24, 2015, Snow Easy Plowing registered owners Zain-Ur-Rehman Shaikh, 25, of Missisauga and Zaidi Shahmir, 24, of Brampton, were both arrested.

They have each been charged with

1) 18 counts of Fraud
2) 16 counts of Pass Off Wares

They are scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, September, 22, 2015, 1 p.m., room 301.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Man charged in Sexual Assault investigation, Amor El Hamdi, 42, facing 2 charges, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- a man, identified as Marco Foley, befriended a woman in June 2015

- the man obtained information about the woman through mutual acquaintances

- once the man had obtained the trust of the woman, he took her for lunch

- the man drove the woman to a secluded location

- the man sexually assaulted the woman

On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, Amor El Hamdi, 42, of Toronto, was arrested.

He was charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

2) Breach of Recognizance

He appeared in court at College Park, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, 10 a.m.

He is described as 5'10", 170 lbs., with short black hair and a bald patch.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Arrest warrant issued for man in Sexual Assault investigation, Thye Mattos Ventura Bezerra, 27, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, July 16, 2015, a 22-year-old woman was at home, with her friend and two men

- the woman went to sleep

- one of the men entered the woman's bedroom and sexually assaulted her

The man has been allegedly identified as Thye Mattos Ventura Bezerra, 27, of Brazil. He was in Canada as a participant in the 2015 Pan Am games as a member of the Brazilian water polo team.

An arrest warrant has been issued.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Missing woman, Digna Narciso, 76

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing woman.

Digna Narciso, 76, was last seen on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11:50 a.m., near Toronto General Hospital, 200 Elizabeth Street.

She is described as 5'2" - 5'4", approximately 130 lbs., medium build, brown hair with traces of grey, and walks with the aid of a black walker. She was last seen wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with horizontal stripes and grey pants.

Police are concerned for her safety.

Public Safety Alert, Distraction Theft, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a distraction theft that targeted an 85-year-old woman.

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, July 23, 2015, an 85-year-old woman was gardening in her front yard in The Queensway and Park Lawn Road area

- an older-model brown car stopped on the road near the woman

- the car was driven by a man and had a woman in the back seat

- the woman in the back seat motioned the gardening woman to come closer and asked her for directions

- the woman approached the car and leaned into it, while giving directions and the woman in the car slid a gold-coloured ring into her blouse pocket

- the woman tried to return the ring to the woman in the car and, while doing so, the woman in the car grabbed her by the hand and attempted to remove her diamond ring

- nothing was obtained and the car fled the scene

The driver was described as a white man, 24-26, with a mustache and black hair.

The passenger in the back seat was described as a white woman, 60-70, with black, short, curly hair

Similar Distraction Thefts have been taking place across the Greater Toronto Area. The suspect(s) in these crimes distract the victims by giving them worthless jewelry while stealing expensive jewelry, such as rings and necklaces, from the fingers and necks of the victims.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Sexual Assault Alert, Allan Gardens, Composite sketch released of wanted man

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at approximately 2:45 p.m, a 22-year-old woman fell asleep in Allan Gardens

- the woman woke up to find an unknown man sexually assaulting her

The man is described as late-20s, dark-blond or light-brown messy hair, with green eyes. He was wearing a white T-shirt, loose-fitting jeans, a blue baseball cap with a red emblem and green backpack.

A composite sketch of the man has been released.

14 Division's "Fugitive Friday," Shaquille Martin, 22

This is the latest instalment of 14 Division's "Fugitive Friday." Police are looking for Shaquille Martin, 22, of Toronto.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, June 20, 2014, a man was walking in the Spadina Avenue and St. Andrew’s Street area

- the man was approached by two males

- while one of the men was talking to the man, the other grabbed him from behind and placed him in a choke hold

- after the man passed out, the men stole his wallet containing Canadian and foreign currency

- the men fled on foot but were arrested near the scene

Shaquille Martin has since failed to appear in court to answer to the charge.

On Wednesday, July 15, 2015 a Bench Warrant for Shaquille Martin, 22, of Toronto was issued.

He is wanted on the strength of a Bench Warrant for:

1) Robbery

He is described as 6', 145 lbs., with black hair in cornrows and brown eyes.

Police warn that he is considered violent. If located do not approach. Call 9-1-1.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing Homicide investigation.

On Thursday, July 23, 2015, the older-model John Deere backhoe was located in Niagara Falls.

Investigators are still looking for the concrete block that the backhoe was seen carrying on Sunday, July 12, 2015. They are appealing to anyone who may have seen the backhoe, in transit from Wainfleet to Niagara Falls, to contact them.

Sexual Assault Alert, Parliament Street and Wellesley Street East area, Police believe there may be other victims

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., a 46-year-old woman was walking in the Parliament Street and Wellesley Street East area

- the woman was approached by a man while she was walking on the sidewalk and was offered assistance walking home.

- the man accompanied her to her apartment and sexually assaulted her inside the apartment

- the man then fled the scene

The man is described as 32-36, 5’7”, medium build, olive complexion, with a Spanish accent, and with a light goatee. He was wearing a green T-shirt with writing on the front, beige cargo shorts, white running shoes, and a dark baseball cap with UFC in white letters on the front. He also had a black backpack.

Police believe there may be other victims.
