Missing girl located, Hannah Van Den Thillart, 15

Hannah Van Den Thillart, 15, was last seen on Monday, January 5, 2014, at 2:20 a.m., in the Rosedale Road area.

Personal injury collision #1/2015, Bathurst Street, south of Harbord Street

On Sunday, January 4, 2015, at 7:03 p.m., police responded to a personal injury collision on Bathurst Street, south of Harbord Street.

It is reported that:

- a 70-year-old man was driving a 2002 Honda Civic, northbound on Bathurst Street in the passing lane, approaching a marked pedestrian crossover

- a 26-year-old woman was attempting to cross Bathurst Street, from the east side to the west side, in the pedestrian crossover

- the woman was struck by the vehicle in the northbound passing lane

The woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

55 Division's "Wanted Wednesday," Jeffrey Belfry, 37, Photograph released

In the latest edition of "Wanted Wednesday," the 55 Division Crime Management Team is looking for Jeffrey Belfry, 37, of Toronto.

On Sunday, October 26, 2014, a man who operates a moving company hired Jeffrey Belfry for one day’s work in Toronto.

It is alleged that:

- after the work was completed, he was paid a sum of money

- he demanded more money

- when he was denied, he punched the victim multiple times in the face and stole his cell phone

He is wanted for Robbery.

He is described as white, 5'6", 150 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes.

Results for rush-hour-route campaign, Tuesday, January 6, 2014, 81 vehicles towed, 487 parking tags issued

On Tuesday, January 6, 2014, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Traffic Services officers, along with Parking Enforcement Officers, were enforcing the rush-hour regulations in the downtown core.

Over those seven hours, 81 vehicles were towed. There were 487 parking tags issued.

That brings the two-day total to 157 vehicles towed and 1,079 parking tags issued.

Missing boy, Future Kaakunga, 13

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance locating a missing boy.

Future Kaakunga, 13, was last seen on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 7 p.m., in the Kingston Road and McCowan Road East area.

He is described as black, 5'8", heavy build, short black hair and has a birthmark on the right side of his face. He was wearing a dark T-shirt and dark pants with a grey stripe.

Police are concerned for his safety.

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a woman who was believed to be in distress.

On Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 1:30 a.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call for an Unknown Trouble near the intersection of Sheppard Avenue and Yonge Street area. A woman was seen in the area in distress and in need of medical attention.

On Tuesday, January 6, 2015, investigators located the woman. She is in good health.

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a missing girl.
Lee Ann Bowles, 16, was last seen on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., in the Eglinton Avenue East and Kennedy Road area.

She is described as white, 5'5", 140 lbs., medium build, green eyes with long dark hair, possibly with a red streak.

Police are concerned for her safety.
She was located on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 7 a.m.

Media advisory, Thursday January 8, 2015 noon, Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street, Toronto Police Service welcomes 88 new recruits

The Toronto Police Service is pleased to be hosting a graduation ceremony for 88 new police recruits on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at the Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street, starting at noon.

In attendance for this special occasion will be the Honourable Yasir Naqvi, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services; Mayor John Tory, Toronto Police Services Board Chair Alok Mukherjee, and Chief William Blair.

The graduating class is representative of Toronto’s diverse cultural community and brings a superior level of varied knowledge and abilities to the Service, including language skills, previous military or policing experience and post-secondary education.

The class is comprised of 20.5% women and 39.8% visible minority members. A total of 81.8% successfully completed post-secondary education. Of those, three recruits have doctorate degrees and four have Master's degrees. A total of 20.5% have previous military or policing experience. A total of 54.5% of the class speak a language other than English, including: Arabic, American Sign Language, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Dari, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Konkani, Korean, Kutchi, Macedonian, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Pushtu, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Sinhalese, Slovakian, Somalian, Spanish, Tamil, Twi, and Urdu. Of the new recruits that speak a second language, 26% speak two or more languages other than English.

On Friday, January 2, 2014, the Toronto Police Service requested the public’s assistance with a Sexual Assault investigation.

It was reported that:

- on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at 10:30 p.m., a 52-year-old woman was in the Dundas Street East and Sherbourne Street area

Man wanted for two Indecent Act investigations, Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a man sought in two Indecent Act investigations in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area.

On Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at approximately 4:50 a.m., a woman, 56, was waiting for a bus.

It is reported that:

- a man approached her

- his penis was exposed

- he was last seen walking away, southbound, across Wilson Avenue

On Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at approximately 5:20 a.m., a woman, 60, was waiting for a bus in the same area.

It is reported that:

- a man approached her

- his penis was exposed

- he is believed to have committed an indecent act behind the woman

- he was last seen walking westbound on Wilson Avenue

The man is described as black or brown, light-to-medium complexion, in his 40s, approximately 5'7"-5'11", medium build, wearing a dark jacket with light-brown fur on the hood, light-coloured pants (possibly beige) and dark shoes.

On both occasions he carried a courier or duffle-style bag on his shoulder and across his chest. On one occasion, he was described as wearing clear rectangular glasses and having white gloves on as he walked away from the scene.

Investigators have released security camera images of the suspect.

Two men wanted in Robbery investigation, Scarborough Town Centre, Security camera images and video released

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying and locating two men involved in a Robbery.

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, at approximately 1 p.m., a man, 25, and his young daughter were shopping in the Scarborough Town Centre.

It is alleged that:

- he was approached from behind by one of the three men

- he was assaulted and the chain he was wearing was ripped from his neck

- as the struggle ensued, the man held his daughter in his arms to protect her

- the other two men acted as look-outs as the robbery took place

- the men fled the mall and got into a red vehicle

- this incident was captured on security camera video

The main suspect has been identified as Roland Nugent, 32, of Toronto, but he has yet to be located. A warrant in the First Instance is currently in effect for him. He is encouraged to contact police to turn himself in.

Through investigations, one of the men who acted as a look-out was eventually identified as Joseph Rowan, 24, of Toronto. He has been arrested and charged with:

1) Robbery

The other man who acted as a look-out remains unknown and outstanding. Police request the public's help identifying and locating him.

A video of these men is now released.

Two seventeen-year-old boys face 14 charges related to four Kijiji Robbery/Theft investigations, Police believe there may be more victims

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two arrests in a Kijiji Robbery/Theft investigation.

During December 2014, police received calls for several robberies and thefts in the Guildcrest Drive area.

It is alleged that:

- the victims responded to classified ads on the website Kijiji offering a new iPhone

- the victims were requested to meet at an address in the Guildcrest Drive area, usually in the evening

- when the victims arrived, they would be robbed of their belongings by the sellers

- the sellers would use various fake email and internet-generated phone services to contact the victims

On Thursday, December 11, 2014, a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery
2) five counts of Theft Under $5000

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Friday, December 12, 2014.

On Monday, January 5, 2015, a 17-year old boy was arrested and charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery
2) five counts of Theft Under $5000

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Tuesday, January 6, 2014.

The names of the Young Persons cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police believe there may be more victims.

Investigators are asking any witnesses or victims who have not come forward to contact police.

We are requesting the public's assistance locating Peta-Gaye Christie, 30, of Toronto. She is currently wanted on an Immigration Warrant and a Warrant in the First Instance for:

1) Robbery
2) Assault with a weapon

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with locating a missing man.

Matthew Mcintosh, 33, was last seen on Thursday, January 8, 2014, at 6:30 a.m., in the Bathurst Street and Front Street West area.

He is described as white, 33, 6'1", 200 lbs., with black medium-length receding hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing navy blue pants with a rip on the inner thigh, long-sleeve grey button down shirt and flip-flop sandals.

Police are concerned for his safety given that he is not dressed for the inclement weather.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2014, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Traffic Services officers, along with Parking Enforcement Officers, were enforcing the rush-hour regulations in the downtown core.

Over those seven hours, 54 vehicles were towed. There were 424 parking tags issued.

That brings the three-day total to 211 vehicles towed and 1,503 parking tags issued.
