Missing Woman, Rusholme Drive and Dundas Street West area, Teresa Needler, 57

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance locating a missing woman.

Teresa Needler, 57, was last seen on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Rusholme Drive and Dundas Street West area.

She is described as medium build, 5'9", 160 lbs., blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a long-sleeve beige blouse with white undershirt, beige shorts, sandals, and had a push cart with her.

Police are concerned for her safety.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a homicide investigation.

On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at approximately 5:52 a.m., police responded to a radio call for a shooting in the Spadina Avenue and Nassau Street area.

It is reported that:

- multiple sounds of gunshots were heard

- officers attended and located four men with gunshot wounds

- two men were pronounced deceased on scene

- a 31-year-old man from Markham has been treated and released from hospital

- a 43-year-old man from Burnaby, British Columbia, remains in a local trauma centre in serious, but stable condition

The deceased men have been identified as Anthony Dang, 27, of Markham, and Zhi Tan, 32, of Richmond Hill. Post mortem examinations are scheduled for Tuesday August 10, 2021.

This is an active investigation and police remain in the area carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances of the shooting.

Anyone who may have seen Anthony Dang or Zhi Tan in the early hours of August 8, 2021, are urged to contact Homicide Squad detectives. Even the smallest amount of information could be vital to the investigation.

The Toronto Police Service has launched its 11th and 12th episodes of the 24 Shades of Blue podcast with Obie & Ax.

Featuring two female members of the Toronto Police Service, these episodes highlight the vastly different career opportunities available to police officers and civilians.

Communications Operator Madison Turner-Bob has answered emergency calls for service and dispatched police officers to crimes in progress for three and a half years. She shares what it's like to be on the phone with someone in a life or death situation and provides tips to anyone needing to call for police, fire or ambulance.

In the next episode, Superintendent Kim O'Toole, Unit Commander of the Toronto Police College and President of Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) walks listeners through the pathway to success for anyone interested in becoming a police officer as well as what it's like to be responsible for the daily training of almost 8,000 members of the TPS.
