On Sunday, January, 29, 2017, at 9:30 p.m., Green Buddha Medicinals, at 792 College Street, was robbed by two males armed with a revolver.
It is alleged that:
- two males entered the premises disguised with masks and gloves
- one of the males was armed with a loaded revolver, the other carried a large hockey bag
- they pointed the handgun at the clerk and demanded cash and marijuana
- as the males were loading property into the hockey bag, the clerk was able to
flee the front entrance
- the clerk locked the men inside the premises and fled
- in an attempt to escape the locked premises, the males discharged the firearm several times into the front door
On Sunday, January, 29, 2017, a man and a boy were arrested.
Abdullahi Dirie, 19, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) Robbery while armed with a Firearm
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Use Firearm during the Commission of an Offence
4) Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon Prohibited device
5) Pointing a Firearm
6) Unauthorized possession of a Firearm
7) Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is Unauthorized
8) Possession of a loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
9) Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
10) Fail to Comply Recognizance
He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Monday, January 30, 2017, 10 a.m., room 101.
A 17 year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:
1) Robbery while armed with a Firearm
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Use Firearm during the Commission of an Offence
4) Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon Prohibited device
5) Pointing a Firearm
6) Unauthorized possession of a Firearm
7) Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is Unauthorized
8) Possession of a loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
He was scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Monday, January 30, 2017, 10 a.m., room 1.
The name of the Young Person cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
